I didn't care enough about Sonatine to go around changing my signature until he did it to me. I *do* care about the subject. I'll go ahead and change it, I just wanted to fuck with him. "Full of" is a vague term. Death is ugly and warfare is nasty. It doesn't need people blindly being cheerleaders. Bravery means truly risking your life. The modern US army is such a badass and picks their targets that this isn't the case. Care to look up how dangerous it was to be in Iraq versus the more dangerous domestic jobs ? Any asshole can take a gun and shoot some random person if they don't have to worry about repercussions. That is what modern bravery is, nothing more. Unfortunately there will probably be battles in the future where this isn't the case.
