When Mayweather was a Top Rank fighter, Arum would routinely say "I've been around them all, Floyd's the best I've ever seen". It wasn't until Floyd left Arum, that he started "ducking" Top Rank fighters. Arum has been robbing Pacquiao blind for some time now. I mean, 6 fight, $75 million contract? For the 2nd biggest name in boxing? That's absurd. Pacquiao brings in a LOT more than that.
Maidana isn't an 11/1 dog. Mayweather is 11/1 favorite. Maidana is 7/1. And he's only 7/1 against Mayweather. He'd be 4-1 against Pacquiao. It's not that Maidana is so bad, it's that Mayweather is so good. I mean, Canelo is a very high risk fight for ANYONE in boxing right now. He's considered a "cherry pick" for Mayweather. He's held to a pretty high standard (admittedly, he brings it on himself with all this "TBE" shit).
As unlikely as it is, it wouldn't break my heart to see Maidana knock him out. I like Maidana a lot. And I've always wanted to see how Mayweather would act in defeat. I think he would be surprisingly humble.
