Its funny because whenever someone would say anything he would be like this guy is a tough fight for me. He knew he had to try and convince people of it so they buy the fight. He had to catch himself and others a few times on all access.
Pacquiao has very little say over his career. He's Bob Arum's boy. Guy literally makes no decision whatsoever. I don't think it's a Mayweather/Pacquiao thing. I never have. I 100% believe that it's a Mayweather/Arum thing.
And I believe that Arum knows what the outcome would be, and that's why he doesn't want his boy in with Mayweather. When Mayweather was a Top Rank fighter, Arum would routinely say "I've been around them all, Floyd's the best I've ever seen". It wasn't until Floyd left Arum, that he started "ducking" Top Rank fighters. Arum has been robbing Pacquiao blind for some time now. I mean, 6 fight, $75 million contract? For the 2nd biggest name in boxing? That's absurd. Pacquiao brings in a LOT more than that.
Maidana isn't an 11/1 dog. Mayweather is 11/1 favorite. Maidana is 7/1. And he's only 7/1 against Mayweather.
He'd be 4-1 against Pacquiao. It's not that Maidana is so bad, it's that Mayweather is so good. I mean, Canelo is a very high risk fight for ANYONE in boxing right now. He's considered a "cherry pick" for Mayweather. He's held to a pretty high standard (admittedly, he brings it on himself with all this "TBE" shit).
As unlikely as it is, it wouldn't break my heart to see Maidana knock him out. I like Maidana a lot. And I've always wanted to see how Mayweather would act in defeat. I think he would be surprisingly humble.
