Robert Pickering Needs to Learn Some Manners

So I've had a few suggestions I should change the thread title here, so as to not make this SEO as high for Pickering's name. Keep in mind that I am NOT considering censoring Pickering's name from the thread. That will remain. I'm just talking about the thread title.

Arguments for changing thread title:

- To an unbiased observer, it seems difficult to see who is right or wrong in this situation. In fact, the most likely scenario seems that there is some fault on both sides. Therefore, as this wasn't an outright scam, it doesn't seem fair to allow this site to SEO Pickering's name like this.

- Pickering has not been slamming Marty publicly.

- This seems to be a private dispute between Marty and Pickering, so Marty shouldn't be able to use PFA as a tool to SEO Pickering's name like this.



Arguments against changing the thread title:

- By Pickering's own admission, he is attempting to get Marty in trouble with Mexican immigration, which is a dick move regarding a small-dollar business dispute.

- There seem to be a number of complaints about Pickering's business practices from people other than Marty, so he doesn't seem like an innocent victim here.

- Tyde has brought the hits, and should have the right to blow up the name of a jerk threatening to get him deported.

If you are allowing Pickerings full name, you should also allow Marty's full name. Pickering never made this public. Marty did. That's the difference. Pickering might be a complete dick, but he acted SOMEWHAT professional and kept private business private. Marty wants to do something like this....allow his full name out also.

That's also a good point, and something that should be considered.

Marty's full name has been censored from the site for a long time.

Basically, Marty approached me awhile ago (a long time before he dealt with Pickering) and told me that this site was SEOing high for his name, and it was affecting his ability to do business.

While Marty did make his own name public many years ago, and definitely is the source of most of his own problems, I understood where he was coming from. I have an asshole trying hard (and succeeding) to SEO my name, and I understand how frustrating this can be. I don't want this site to hurt anyone aside from scammers and other criminals, so I told Marty I would censor his name to where everyone here would understand it (it changed to Curacao) but google wouldn't index it to his real name.

So that was done.

I will admit that I was irritated when Marty recently returned to the site and mocked me about what Chucky was doing to me (the SEO job on MY name). I told Marty that I would remove the filter on his name if he thought such attacks were so hilarious.

But I do understand your point that Marty's name should also be fair game if he's using the site to call out someone else by name.
