Headshot, did you ever retake the test? Does your doctor even know that you didn't fast.

You should throw the test results away if you didn't retake it after fasting.

devidee, did YOU fast for 12 hours before the test?

    This is very important.

cmoney, the LDL:HDL ratio is a very accepted model for heart attack risk. It doesn't tell the whole story, but it sounds like you're discounting that whole test. LDL doesn't tell the whole story, of course. If your HDL is also high, you aren't in danger from a high LDL, just as a normal LDL can be bad if your HDL is low. It's all about the ratio.

Well I don't think anyone can argue that genetics factor into the equation, but diet certainly is the largest contributing factor. I made some small changes to my diet and in 4 months my Cholesterol dropped from 230 to 170 and my other ratios improved dramatically. And by small changes I mean had 3/4 of my stomach ripped out.
Each person is different. 230->170 is a decent drop, but as cmoney said, it's not a dramatic drop, as is often necessary when people show up with 320 total cholesterol. And others can't get any kind of drop from lifestyle changes. And others like me have a great number despite a lifestyle which would cause high cholesterol if not for genetic factors.

    I did not.

My doctor said that, even taking that into account,
my Triglyceride number is obscenely high.

did I read this right? you smoke between 60-100 cigarettes per day?
yes, i'm not proud of it but its the only thing i have ever had trouble quitting. I once quit for 3 years because someone important wanted me to. I also quit for a year once on a bet for $1000. I would be fine around people who smoked even. Then something would happen that would stress me out and then I would jump off the wagon.

I like how you subtlety add that vice in to the list as one would add they eat a snickers bar every day. How long you been smoking for?
I have been smoking since i was 17, quit a few times and i am now 41.

    This is a remarkable achievement.

    4 packs $40 x 365 = $14,600/yr

    35% tax bracket $14,600 x 1.35 = $19,710 earned income devoted to smoking

    16 waking hours x 60 min. = 960 min / 80 cig.s = 1 cigarette every 12 min.

The cholesterol discussion is a genetics discussion and drugs will buy you time. The cigarette post is a brag.
    4 packs Pall Mall in West Virginia @ $3.5 x 365 = $5110/yr
I earn between $40,000 to $45,000 yearly driving truck
I seldom sleep more than 6 hours a day
To be honest, I really dont care if you believe me.

No, just one after another. I have lit one, put it down and then lit another without realizing that I already had one burning.

You don't "detoxify your liver," your liver detoxifies you.

I like how you quoted something I didn't even say. The fact of the matter is that steam rooms are an extremely useful resource, because they stimulate sweating and improve lymphatic circulation. I'm obviously not a doctor, but that sounds rather beneficial for your liver, heart, and other organs.

Yeah. He said it didn't really matter because worst case it would only impact results by 10% or so.. Fasting or not, my triglycerides were really high in his opinion.

Plan is to check blood again in a couple months and to check into lipoprotein particle testing based on cmoney suggestion, would you mind asking your brother about this?

    35 and look/feel fine

Well, considering I quoted your entire post first, I think I pretty well covered what you said. However, since you are being pedantic about this, I shall try again.

Eucalyptus steam doesn't help get "rid of all that nasty shit in your liver," your liver gets rid of all the nasty shit in YOU.
