Al Gore thought the same thing in 2000. How'd that turn out for him?

The media in this country doesn't have the greatest track records in calling close elections. Why can't people just wait til the votes are counted?

Do you guys ever get sick of the endless speculation? Hanging onto every little thing these jerkoffs report?
I'm actually enjoying watching the results, thank you very little.

All of the states that have been called for Romney & Obama were slam-dunk for each candidate, with the except of Michigan, which wasn't quite a slam dunk but was strongly predicted for Obama.

Obama is winning by 16,000 votes in Florida, with 74% of the counties in. Not sure where the other 26% is, which can make a gigantic difference.

I agree that Ohio isn't looking good so far for Romney.

If Florida breaks for Obama, not only is the election over, but Obama is also likely to win every other swing state except for NC, where he is running close and may take, as well.

As a Republican, these results are not good to see.

In the non-Presidential contests, I hope that Heller beats Berkley (who is a horrible bitch) for Senate in Nevada, and I hope California propositions 30, 34, 36, and 38 FAIL.

Interestingly, Virginia's polls closed over two hours ago (4:00pm PST), but certain areas had such a high turnout that people are still in line to vote, and they will be allowed provided that they were in line prior to the time the closed polls.

You serious? This is Washington. Abraham Lincoln couldn't have won here. Unfortunately, it will be Inslee, easy. The fact that Gregoire won a second term here shows that Washington voters are pretty much clueless. Really wish King County would just get get swallowed up by the earth and disappear off the face of the planet. Ridiculous how such a small portion of a state can dominate so much of the entire states policy.

    Exactly.

The next few hours I think will decide this whole thing. The fact North Carolina and Virgina are still up for grabs is not good.

He basically needs a 3 or 4 team parlay to hit on these close states within the next couple hours to stay in this thing.

Wow. In Florida, with nearly 6.8 million votes in, Obama 49.59% and Romney 49.57%, according to division of elections #Election2012

    Romney has lost Pennsylvania.

I hate how Republicans fall for this crap every year and spend too much time over there.

Florida amazingly close -- out of 6.8 MILLION votes, Romney is ahead by 183 votes.

    Wow.

I agree 100% obv, Maria Cant Well will win a third term by basically running unopposed and she is another empty dress.

It's been pointed out before, but not sure why most of you don't realize that the percentage a candidate is +/- at this point is all relative to what portion of the state has been counted. Just because either candidate is leading doesn't even mean they are favored if their opponents strongholds throughout the state haven't been counted. In Washington, state races always seem like Republican runaways until the heavily populated and democrat leaning King County, which includes Seattle, is counted. It's exactly how they fucked up Florida in 2000.

Republicans will retain control of the House, and might actually pick up a few seats.
