Boxing is a business all about the money draw. Their are enough people that want to see a rematch for this fight regardless of how many people think it may finish.

The 116-112 score was correct. Mayweather controlled the second half of the fight. The draw score is a disgrace. Maidana doesn't deserve a rematch, even though it was a competitive fight. He never even hurt Mayweather at any point. Khan will most likely get the September fight. I don't want to see that fight, but I also wouldn't want to have to watch another fight against Maidana, who would never beat Floyd if he got ten rematches.
Anyone scoring that fight for Maidana is either doing so out of blind hate for Mayweather, or because of Maidana's aggression. Chino threw a lot of punches, but he missed with the majority of them. Floyd picked him apart on the inside with those short sneaky punches. He was hitting Maidana at will. I think people are overreacting to Maidana's performance because he did better than expected. I was impressed that he did so well, but he still lost. Mayweather would win a rematch in a landslide.
Khan says a September fight with Mayweather isn't possible because of Ramadan.
All I will say is I wasn't impressed with Mayweather one bit last night. I have no problem with the result and from watching the fight the judges results weren't really a surprise to me at all but lets face it Mayweather's performance was sub-par. Anyone who can't at least agree on that is a blinded Floyd fan boy who is either biased or just can't see reality.
He's definitely starting to slow down. His movement isn't as smooth as it used to be. His reaction time has appeared to slow quite a bit, too. Of course, he's also 37 years old. People like to act like Mayweather is the only fighter that isn't supposed to age.
Well we have have a rematch to make more money, so we'll see what happens.
And yes age for Mayweather might make the difference this next time around.
It has for all the other fighters who have ever fought.
Joe Louis vs. Rocky Marciano
Mayweather will win a rematch much more convincingly. Maidana fought the absolute best fight he could, equipped with 100 rabbit punches, a few low blows and even a knee. And he still came up short. A for effort, but he's never beating Mayweather (nothing to be ashamed of).
Mayweather only has 3 to 5 fights left, say, and to waste one of those on a rematch with Maidana would be a damn shame. He's got Garcia, he's got Thurman, he's got Porter, even Matthysse or Provodnikov would be better than Maidana again. None of those guys can necessarily compete with Floyd any better than Maidana did, but he had his chance and lost to the better man, and Floyd needs to move on.
Being aggressive doesn't win fights, being effective does, and Mayweather was way more effective than Maidana, particularly in the second half of the fight. (Those coming-straight-down right hands Maidana throws are bizarre, btw.) You just don't like Floyd, obviously, and that's affecting your judgment.
i thought it was great that at post fight interview in the ring mayweather basically said he wasnt trying. He was just giving the viewers their moneyz worth dog.
So where was all the action there? lol
LAS VEGAS – Fans said they feared for their lives after a "terrifying" crush of spectators injured at least 24 people after Floyd Mayweather's victory over Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night.
As supporters tried to leave the arena through a crowded passageway and into the main casino, eyewitnesses reported a "stampede" of people occurred.
According to Eric Poleski, battalion chief for the Clark County Fire Department, 24 people were taken to local hospitals as a result of their injuries. Most were leg injuries, and those affected ranged in age from children to the elderly. The most serious injury was sustained by a woman in her mid 30s who suffered from a bad leg laceration.
Poleski confirmed that a stampede-like crowd motion had taken place, sparked by fans mistaking a loud noise for a gunshot.
"What happened was a temporary wall had fallen over and it made a loud bang and people assumed that shots were fired, so they started stampeding," Poleski said.

MGM director of public relations Scott Ghertner said the property's management and security staff were looking into the situation and that a statement would be released Sunday.
Boxing fan Dulce Castillo, who attended the Mayweather-Maidana bout, told Yahoo Sports that her 6-year-old son, Braulio, was being taken to the hospital after being trampled underfoot.
"I just [felt] like the people [were] over me and I am scared and I am screaming very hard," Castillo said. "I said to my brother, 'Help me, help me, please.' My son is with people [on top of him]. I thought that we were dying, really."
The official attendance of the fight was a sellout of 16,268, and following Mayweather's majority decision win, many of the fans attempted to leave through the upper concourse exit, which leads to the Garden Walk section of the MGM property and houses several eating establishments.
Around 15 minutes after the conclusion of the fight, the crowd swell began to move violently to the right. An estimated 60 people took refuge in the ladies' restroom in order to avoid potential harm.
Others were not so fortunate.
A 64-year-old hotel photographer who gave his name as Carlos told Greg Heakes of the AFP news service that he was caught in an ugly stampede of between 300 to 400 people.
"People just started yelling and screaming, and next thing I know some guy jumps over my table and hits me on the head," the man said. "People pushed the table back against the wall. There were a couple of ladies on the floor next to me. It was chaos."
Former WBA super bantamweight champion Clarence "Bones" Adams and a friend assisted in pulling spectators out of the crush and to safety, with many of them taken to a holding area in the Hecho en Vegas restaurant, where they received medical attention.
"All of a sudden we heard a loud rumble and people were falling," Adams said. "There was no gun shot. But there was nothing that could be done with the people in here. They were all getting hurt. A little kid got trampled on, all the tables were getting turned."
"I was really scared," she said after being attended to by medical staff. "Everyone just started running. It was like a stampede."
Another female victim, Kay from Maryland, spoke of how the terror of the situation meant this would be her first and last boxing event.
The Blizz Frozen Yogurt shop immediately next to the main entrance to Grand Garden Arena was roped off and shut down as a female fan lay on the floor and received attention.
A fan from Argentina described a fight scene in broken English, saying, "Everyone wants to fighting like crazy, no room to move."
The section where the crush of people occurred is routinely jammed at the end of major events, including the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley last month.
The MGM this week announced plans for a new $350 million arena on The Strip that will be used to host major sporting events like the Mayweather fight and concerts.

Floyd Mayweather's unbeatable façade cracked Saturday, but as always, he came out a winner.

I hope you're not serious. Its clear you dont like Arum but noboddy tells MP anything. If he wants to fight someone they will do what he says and make it happen.
Second part isnt true either. The great thing about MP is hes a huge draw win or lose. Hes not undefeated like MM. The only one concerned about losing is MM. If MM really cared about TBE he would demand a fight with MP, but he only cares about making money and whos to blame him.
I'm a a guy that gives rounds to the guy that is pushing the action. I still had the fight 115-113 for Mayweather. Mayweather's insane defense annoys me since it revolves around a lot of holding. He's still amazing but the only reason I watch his fights are in hope that he gets a beating like Broner did at the hands of Maidana. Our bar was only half full, I think a lot of people are losing interest. If he were only about the money he would lose a fight and make 4 times as much on the rematch. He clearly cares about his legacy.
Pacquiao has fought tougher fighters than Mayweather has.
The reason Arum doesn't want Pacquiao to fight Mayweather is not because he believes that Mayweather is the better boxer. It's because Mayweather has cost Arum money and has tried to steal away some of his boxers.
Arum hates Mayweather's guts.
But honestly it's too late to make Mayweather versus Pacquiao, the fight should've been made back in 2010 or 2011.
If Arum can't deal with MGM to host his fights, he will lose tens of millions of dollars.
Arum decided to fuck off MGM officials, because he saw billboards promoting Mayweather vs Maidana at the last Pacquiao fight at the MGM Grand.
Good riddance to Bob Arum, he has fucked over more boxers than Don King.
:popcorn
The hatred that Arum has for Mayweather is kind of what I'm talking about. He despises Mayweather, and there's not a chance in hell that he wants to feed Pacquiao to Mayweather and ultimately lose this battle to him once and for all. Instead, he can keep recycling Top Rank fighters, keep Manny winning, and keep people thinking that Mayweather is "afraid" of Pacquiao. Arum isn't concerned with Pacquiao losing, he's concerned with Pacquiao losing to Mayweather.
I hate to say it, but boxing as a whole might be better off after Uncle Bob is DD.
Of course I'm serious. I didn't say that Manny couldn't have any say. I said that he doesn't. His response is ALWAYS "it depends on my promoter, Bob Arum". Pacquiao never goes to Arum and says "I want this guy, make it happen". It's just not what he does. Could he? Absolutely. Will he? Nope.
Again, Arum isn't concerned with Pacquiao losing. Arum is concerned with him losing to Mayweather. And he would.
So I guess, I hope you're not serious when you say "Nobody tells Pacquiao what to do", because that's EXACTLY what Bob Arum does.

Lol Lil wayne trying to get in a boxing match back stage.
Snapedit: It's really too bad he didn't get his ass handed to him.
So you're taking his responses to the media as what goes on behind the scenes? Bullshit if he really wanted to fight mayweather I guarantee you the only person on the planet who could stop it is Mayweather himself. I agree with whoever said its too late kinda because even though it would have been better to see 2-3 years ago it would still be the biggest fight in boxing history at least the modern era.
Neither one of these guys want to fight each other for different reasons, but if they did it would happen I guarantee you that regardless of anyone working for them.
If Pacquiao had very much say, he wouldn't be getting ripped off like he is. I mean, he's still making a ton of money, but he could be making a LOT more. I just can't imagine why he would be cutting himself so short.
I do agree that neither of them want to fight very badly, though. Mayweather is gonna clear damn near 70 million for Maidana. Cleared just as much for Canelo. I'm not shocked he's not rushing to fight Pacquiao. And as long as 500-700k people are gonna pay to see Pacquiao beat up on the same Top Rank fighters, they won't be in any rush either.
Betting the 12 round decision is becoming very +EV in these big time, "main event" fights, even with the big juice now. It's free money with the way these guys fight now.
I've taken the last four Floyd fights and the Rios-PacMan fight (which was a +175 underdog to go the distance, despite Rios having one of the best chins I have ever seen in combat sports!). I dunno when this trend stops, but riding the train for now!
He lives in the Phillipines hes probably the equivalent of a billionaire there. Mannys a huge draw but not close to MM. Plus MM owns everything so hes going to make more. Like he said on all access I know how to make money. The guy knows how to make money cant argue that.
I was watching the fight and the way the fight went I thought 116-112 Mayweather was fair. However, I think the outcome could have been very different if the ref had let Maidana work through Mayweather holds, instead of always separating them. In many of the close rounds Mayweather had periods he was trapped against the ropes so he basically hugged Maidana and got a quick separation. Maidana seemed willing to keep punching and try to work through the holds, and I kinda feel the ref should have let him.
Ironically, I saw Mayweather actually criticized the ref saying he didn't separate them quick enough when they got "tied up" (which was him really just grabbing Maidana when he got in trouble).
I donno. If you bet Pac and Mayweather in their last 10 fights to win by any decision you would have gone 6-4 with Pac and 8-2 with Money. With the odds I would be surprised if you were ahead very much at all. Seems like you might be a little swayed by short term variance.
If you had specified UD you probably would have done even worse as there were multiple split decisions due to what most believe was very bad judging.
Weeks did a fantastic job considering how the fight was going. For the most part, he let them fight it out. Technically, when they clinch, he's supposed to break them up. Clinching is a part of boxing, sure, but it's his job to break it up.
Mayweather should have lost a point for excessive holding.
He also let Chino get away with A LOT. I mean, a lot of refs would have taken a point from him for the multiple low blows, and INSTANTLY taken a point for the attempted knee to the face. I mean, he brought his knee up, and tried to pull Mayweather's head down at the same time. Mix in over 50 attempted rabbit punches, and Maidana certainly should have lost at least one point.
Mayweather typically doesn't complain to the referee. Usually he just fights dirty himself. In this fight, I thought it was justified. As was Maidana's complaints of the excessive holding.
There was an article in ESPN's "Fighting" edition of their magazine where a guy spent a week with Mayweather. He said he went to the ATM with him, and caught a glimpse of his ATM receipt. Said it was over $100 million.
Seems like it'd be more than that considering he ends up making like $70 million per fight.
