My impression of the debate is Obama came out well prepared, and as did Romney. Debate wonks that actually score these things say Obama technically won. Ok. I have never scored a debate, but my impression was Obama was obliterated in the first debate, and in the second debate where this was his strength, he eked out a win.

The problem for the President is ALL the flash polls say Romney won by a 10-29 point margin won on future economic recovery and deficit issues.I am sure Obama won on that AK-47 issue (LOL tight question), but on anything about repairing the economy Obama is just out of his league which is why his sole strategy is to attack Romney as he cannot refer to his record because it is basically blank. Tight answer on gas prices by the President.

Romney definitely missed an opportunity on Benghazi. But let's face it, does anyone think he will let that slip away in the next debate? He got an assist from Candy Crowley and that won't happen again. You might not like Romney but his preparation is simply better.

If you read the history of the Carter and Reagan debates, it was a dead heat up until the last debate and a huge majority shifted to Reagan the last two weeks. I just cannot fathom after 4 years of this Obama record anyone would vote for him. Monday should be interesting. That should decide the election, although John King on CNN said if Romney's favorables hold on the ecomony he is the next President. That was a ballsy call.

Last night was entertaining. It will be interesting to see if Obama will fold again like a tent in a traditional format as opposed to these goofy town hall formats, where lets face it these questions were pretty strange, although good for TV.

it all really varies from baby to baby which should be common sense. Some are a nightmare and leave their parents sleepless and exhausted and others are easy and self soothe, sleep a lot and nap easily. It can be a job that rarely has a break and when you do get that break the only thing you can do is choose to sleep, eat or get some work done.

Here's the fundamental difference between the US and the rest of the western world, around 1950 we all realised that goverment policy encouraging social mobility is a great thing for rich and poor alike. Where as Y'all believe in the stick more than the carrot, which is why you have an underclass weighing your whole country down.

How a country who so beloves the free market can have two presidential candidates talking about bringing back unskilled manufacturing, in a globalised economy, to fix the economy just dumbfounds me.

As someone who had a newborn in 2010, I can tell you that the problem isn't that they require constant attention, as they sleep a whole lot.

The problem is that they don't sleep consistently, so you have a hard time sleeping yourself (or doing anything else that requires peace and quiet for a number of consecutive hours), because they keep waking up for short periods of time and going back to sleep.

Newborns are so out of it that they do very little other than drink, piss, shit, and sleep.

Infants between 1 and 6 months are more interactive, but are often unable to entertain themselves. This makes them very time consuming because you have to do something to keep them interested, or they cry. They also have very short attention spans. They also can't really move anywhere on their own.

As the babies get older, they start to learn to play with toys and develop some of their own interests, so they get easier from that standpoint. However, the more mobile they get, the more trouble they can get into, so you have to constantly watch them.

Truthfully, Barry's daughter was probably very happy on his lap while he browsed PFA, as she is so young that her only concern right now is having a warm body of another human to cuddle up against.

Weekly applications for U.S. unemployment benefits jumped 46,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 388,000, the highest in four months. The increase represents a rebound from the previous week's sharp drop. Both swings were largely due to technical factors.

The Labor Department says the four-week average of applications, a less volatile measure, fell slightly to 365,500, a level consistent with modest hiring.

Last week, California reported a large drop in applications, pushing down the overall figure to the lowest since February 2008.

This week, it reported a significant increase as it processed applications delayed from the previous week.

A department spokesman says the seasonally adjusted numbers "are being distorted ... by an issue of timing."

Applications are a proxy for layoffs. When they decline, it suggests hiring is improving.

The prior week's figure was revised up to show 3,000 more applications than previously reported to 342,000.

Some recent reports suggest the economy is picking up.

Retail sales grew in September at a healthy clip. And builders started construction on new homes and apartments last month at the fastest pace in more than four years. (Read More: Property Flippers Are Back as Housing’s New Middle Men.)

Still, the economy is not growing fast enough to generate much hiring. Growth slowed to a tepid annual rate of 1.3 percent in the April-June quarter, down from 2 percent in the previous quarter.
