Even the mayor of Portland is putting out some form of this story. In fact, even Biden released a statement mostly blaming Trump for what was going on, and appealed to "both the left and the right" to stop the violence.

1) Helping big time but the dems avoiding the situation for months plays into this, calling them peaceful protests etc etc. Moderates were watching and were like WTF is going on. The moderates in the middle think logically and when they see buildings burning and dems calling it peaceful the shit doesn't add up.

2) The local government's lack of response has resulted in more rioting. Same as some shitty parent letting their kids do whatever the fuck they want, it will just continue to escalate. For months they would arrest people and instantly just let them go. Where Trump fails is he doesn't understand why local governments won't take federal help. He trashes them publicly any chance he gets then is like we'll come in and get control of things for you because you're so fuckin terrible at your job. After Trump approaches things this way of course governors and mayors are like, fuck you we don't want your help. If Trump approached it differently they would 100% take the help. This is where Trump fails as a leader which isn't surprising because he isn't one.
