It's not as bad as Trump and most conservative media claim it is, and it's worse than CNN/MSNBC make it out to be. I would say easily Trump is exaggerating more than any major media outlet though.

There are instances of police and White Supremacist agitators making it worse, but no, it's mostly just people that are taking advantage an opportunity to do something they normally wouldn't be able to get away with.
