I understand why people bet parlays . Just not something I do or would think of doing. Nothing wrong with taking a shot . Sports wagering is a Grind . Worse then poker . I am looking to make a profit over a year and sometimes wins and losses come in bunches . As I said in an earlier post I make my picks and go with it. They are MY picks and I usually wont fade others picks . I just started posting my picks so you guys can take a shot or not. Sometimes we will make money and other times we will lose . Nature of the business . Look at Druffs Totals he has a really nice start going to the season and posts the picks for you guys to take or not take. Like Tony G says once the money is in I cant control the cards.

You may well be correct. I am a pacers fan but don't have a lot invested in this season because I never expected them to go anywhere. I feel bad that LeBron is going to break Ohio's heart again. What's the mood there, will the pain and anger be less when he leaves because he finally got you a championship?

Someone at work who knows I talk some trash about sports showed me an online book run by a 24 year old kid we both know

He called up the site on his phone and it looked smooth.

Can you give me a brief overview?

Is this just a skin? What does the guy running the skin kick back?

My guess is that it's the same as most online books run by individuals.

They rent space on a site run out of Costa Rica, but it's only for record-keeping. The money is all handled by the person running the operation, and obviously the site has no power over the bookmaker if he screws you.

I have been told several kids (21-22) at work have drilled themselves into the pavement with their discovery of online wagering.

One kid still lives with mom. He shipped $6k to the book and promptly lost it. Cancelled his checking account - clearly didn’t have funds to cover. The mother and the kid apparently had a joint account and the bank seized the money from the mother’s savings account which was earmarked for another child’s education.

Kid sells car. Pedals his bike to work.

There are one or two similar stories too.

I so much want to tell them about Gookie and have their wounds snap healed.

I gotta stay dark though. I can’t reveal that I am a heroic wagering legend that walks the same corridors they do. They must perceive me as a mere mortal. The rock star adulation gets old.
