Who is posting? Everyone. By rule (look it up if you like) everyone is treated as a singular pronoun. "is" is the verb, since it is singular.

The gif things are fun. Things =subject, gif is a modifier or part of the subject. Things ARE fun.
Because things shouldn't have been there it cannot be the subject. It can equal the subject but take out GIFs and what
