Obv. I'm not saying that civilians should be allowed to own AR-15esque weapons because they can only cause limited carnage. For civilian use that limitation isn't enough.

I have no idea what you can possible gain by letting the civilian population carry something like AR-15. How often are you in a position where you need to gat down 20-30 vermins at a single go? That's literally the only scenario that's not better served by a shotgun, lever-action/bolt-action-rifle or a handgun.

Paddock may have had a gambling problem which led to him snapping. I know this has been mentioned but goes deeper.

We have heard nothing about his gambling habits or anything related to that from the MGM or anybody. I believe this has not come out because MGM doesnt want it to come out. If it is proven Paddock has a gambling problem, and MGM knew about it, it could be a way to go after the MGM for negligence in the deaths.

Doesnt anyone else find it odd we have no information on his gambling habits or his relationship with the MGM besides a few mealiness statements from his host?

Murdering assholes get the same privacy rules as everyone else. I'm sure the FBI has a full play history on him, but MGM has no reason to release it. Also, he most likely gambled in Mesquite rather than drive a 3 hour round trip to Vegas.
