When the maniac fires out on a board like Q24 and you have KQ, you need to kick it up, as the maniac will pay you off with less. The BB just calling on the flop means he's probably behind, and you want to charge him for it.

When the BB flats the 7k on the turn, then you have to consider whether he's calling that much off with worse than your QK (though I don't know the BB's stack size here, which is important), and it's actually a tough decision on what to do. Much of this is player dependent -- whether you think the BB is the type who would still flat this much with a better hand, and how much of a chance he's flatting with a worse hand or a draw. Much of this is also stack size dependent.

In this case, OSA made the right fold, as the BB was flatting with a set, and the SB (maniac?) had shit.

You're missing the exact reason *not* to bump it up:

the BB flatting the flop bet from SB.

If he was HU with maniac, cool. But exactly what hand do you think the BB is flatting with? The instinct to throw more chips into that situation is why tournaments are profitable for people who dont throw more chips into that situation.

I want to thank all of you guys and girls for your well wishes via PM. Its cool to be able to bring us as a group, towards one goal and that's to have me go deep in a tourney.

My last one is on Sept 12th since I want to skip tomorrows tourney since its 9/11. Im going to get rest and will update the fucking and other epiphanies I have had on this trip so far.

Instead of playing cards on 9/11, I might just do Old Homestead.

I have not been happy with my finishes. However, I think that If I can remain having as positive of a mindset that will allow me not to sabotage myself when I do start getting cards.

Two commonalities among these tournies I see is that I build up chips early on, but once blinds get to 100/200, I stop getting cards and go backwards with my stack or stop getting cards and get put into a tough decision like my 75 or JA.

On one hand, I dont want to have that 23 spades hand happen where I wanted to steal the blinds again but at the same time I dont want to fold for 1.5hrs/limp with small-medium pairs to set mine until I get to 15 BB. I need to pick spots where I can constantly increase stacks as blinds go up.

Hopefully I can start getting top 10 hands so I can execute.

Nothing revolutionary, just something I noticed past 2 events.

Okay, so the following retelling of events are intended for audiences 16+ years and over.

So tonight was Old Homestead and it did not dissapoint. Fine Dining, it is not. However, the service and hospitality are amazing.

First I started off with the Roasted Onion Soup and Crab Cake. The slaw on the crab cake was something bigdick would have gladly gobbled up but it was not appetizing.




I struggled between the Filet and the Gotham but I ended up going with the 18oz Filet with a glass of Cab and a side of sweet potatoes with walnuts and marshmellows.



The only thing I criticize is that the butter was not room temperature and that there could have been more walnuts in the sweet potatoes.
