Told ya'll the UFC was gonna put Gall vs Sage on Fox.

It's not the best fight, but it gets casuals interested and butts in the seats. I'll assume it will be the second to last fight on that card, depending whether or not UFC stacks it even more because the Fox national cards have been declining in ratings and attendance.

Ill be interested to see if anyone but Gall says this is going to happen.

This is nothing but a one sided potential. It's nothing but positive for Gall and honestly I dont see the upside for Northcutt. Gall has only two fights in UFC one was a basic no name and the second was against a guy nearly middle aged fighting for the first time after being a Sports Entertainer for nearly two decades. I don't know anybody who's been in a few UFC fights who would've lost to CM PUNK. UFC is gonna end up in a bad situation if Gall wins because he'd potentially be up for a top contender fight a 170 and it would harm Northcutts marketability as the next hot item.

they generally always put one marquise fight on the prelim cards now, sort of a pre-game main event.

Last the FS1 prelim fight before the PPV is often considered a "prelim main" and most fighters actually prefer that to being on the bottom of a PPV card as they get more exposure (because more people watch the prelim than PPV, due to cost and availability).

For example, Uriah Faber always asks for this spot as he had stated, it's better for his personal brand (its also easier for him b/c he's more grandfathered into a better show/win wage than a younger fighter). It's actually one of the few ways fighters can SOMEWHAT get around the Reebok deal because of the exposure they get through the free fight on FS1, as supposed to being the PPV opener (which most hardcore fans don't even care about, nevermind casuals). Also, folks in Russia get to watch Khabib at a reasonable time as supposed to waiting another 2-3 hours more, AND if he wins, he can put the UFC on blast by asking for a title fight on national television and creating the discussion.

This is why UFC200 was so unique, because for their PPV opener it was Cain vs Browne, which is a fight IMO headlines most FS1 and Fox cards.

considering there are 3 title fights on the top of the card, then Weidman-Romero and Cowboy-Gastellum, wtf are you complaining about? Nurmy might very well be the best in the world, sure, but he's far from the most entertaining, and the list of people he has fought are far from world-beaters. He's lucky to be on the NYC card, IMO. Frankie Edgar is on the prelims, for example. Easily the most stacked card of all time, and I'm about as big a Nurmagomedov a fan as there is, but there's no good case to make that he should one of the top 5-6 fights on this card. He's fought once since 2014, and has never beat anyone of any real substance other than RDA a few years ago.

Guy is a beast. Can't imagine rolling around with someone 7' tall. That would suck.

OSP lasted 5 rounds with Jones so I'll take him.

Manuwa guarantees this fight will be exciting, but I think that will allow OSP to own him.

Wow wtf was wrong with OSP 2nd round?

Was he paid off to take the fall? Looked horrible 2nd round after dominating round 1.

OSP seemed very cocky in that fight and then sluggish in the second round where Manuwa made him pay for it.

It's amazing OSP lasted 5 rounds with Jones.
