Nash WAS a very good PG, he's not even Top 10 right now unless you find the perfect team for him to play on, and the Lakers are not it. Nash thrives in the open court creating fast break opportunities. He's a terrible one-on-one defender, has a questionable jump shot, and HE's 39! I will give you that he is excellent in the pick & Roll which could be huge with Gasol

He's also a genetic freak, and takes meticulous care of his body, he's less of an injury risk at 38 then many of the younger point guards who have shitty bodies (Derrick Rose, Rondo).

Problem isn't the injury risk, more of deterioration of skills at his age. Not so worried about the upcoming season (as he looked very good last season), but more about the two seasons after that. How many really effective 41-year-olds do you remember from the NBA?

Going by true PG's you're probably right that he's #7 or #8 behind Westbrook, Tony Parker, Rose, Rondo, Deron, Paul and maybe Irving. And it's not much of a gap between Nash and the other mid-level PG's like Jeff Teague, Rubio and Lawson.

I can't think of any.

true, but if anyone can it would be him, as his skill-set would, and has, translated well to aging. I still think he makes the most sense for this team now though, outside of trying to trade for Rondo. Most of the younger, quick point guards that you want might be able to "keep up" with Westbrook or Paul, but what they would cost the team as far efficiency on both ends of the floor wouldn't be worth it. Basically, I'm saying the Lakers now are better with Nash than with, say, John Wall or Brandon Jennings.

Don't see it that way. Parker has the rings and the rest have jack shit. Rondo was rumored to be traded, so was Deron, and Paul rejected a 3 yr 60 mil extension. Just sounds to me that they are immature and couldn't handle filing in line behind Gasol Bynum and Kobe.

Speaking of n-words. I'm looking through the tax roll of an area in Orlando where many pro golfers and nba players live. Golfers, on average, live in a house that is roughly 3500-5500 sq feet. Even Tigers house in Orlando was reasonable in size, I think less than 6000.

I forgot about Teague being good. I used to live in Winston-Salem, NC and grew up going to Wake Forest games seeing Tim Duncan, Chris Paul and later on Teague. I'm STUNNED that he's made a name for himself in the pros. Was always athletic but EXTREMELY short sighted and immature. All Wake Forest fans laughed when he left early.

Incredible range, can penetrate, and seems to have all the upside in the world. I'm usually pretty good at guessing who is going to be an All Star and who will be a bust (John Wall); the first time I saw Ray Allen take a jump shot in college I said "he's going to be a superstar". But to be honest, I haven't seen enough of Rubio or Lawson to make an accurate judgement on their talents. I look at the stats, but for me it's more how they play, since stats can lie, a la Dana Barros.

Lawson seems like he is going to be the real deal, especially if his shot gets better. I actually think that John Wall still has the ability to make a name for himself. He's been on some cancerous teams (Nick Young, JaVale McGee) and hopefully the Wiz won't be as horrible this year.
