Again, there are a lot of players out there, so definitive statements about how good these teams are going to be reflects poorly on all. KC is likely losing Gordon, and if they do, that's a gigantic loss. We'll see what they replace him with.

I guess I'm bearish on CC Sabathia ever being good again and Tanaka ever pitching a full year, that's where my Yankee skepticism lies.

The Dodger have a lot of prospects. If they don't move some for veterans players, it's baseball malpractice (considering their payroll).

It's been fun to watch a team with seemingly every advantage fail. The Royals Dodgers -- David Goliath storyline flowed beautifully the past couple of years.

It's kind of disappointing to see Druff now publicly accepting that his team possesses inept ownership/management/coaching. This has always been the case. Walter/Friedman/Zaidi are just failing in different ways.

Wonder what they thought of Dollywood? Did anyone actually confirm they even went to Nashville?

We still have the opportunity to crush Druff's last ill begotten dream. Prospects.

    Toaster knows.

According to most of the research done on prospect rankings, the failure rate for players ranked within Baseball America's Top 100 approaches 70%. Even selecting the cream of the crop, theoretically the guys we should have the best information on, seven in 10 fail to become significant big-league contributors.
You can argue the numbers. Maybe its 50% fail. 40%? Regardless, money allows you to insure against chance by trading prospects for proven veterans. Most teams just gotta trust their farm system. It's all they have. That's not the Dodgers. However, they have the wrong front office managing their greatest asset.

It brings me so much joy. Why? Because I want Druff to suffer as I have as a Red Sox fan. Our front office has made all the same mistakes. It's the same big dollar fuckup. I mean aside from three championships in the recent decade.

Kinda loving Dombrowski. He also appears to be a straight shooter. Says what he thinks publicly. Very rare.

You guys are aware that that Seattle pitcher, Iwakuma, that signed with the Dodgers & was supposed to "replace Greinke failed his physical or some shit & re-signed with Seattle.

I initially heard he signed with the White Sox after the Dodger deal fell through so now I'm totally fucking confused.

I just read that as well.

Interesting, well that knocks my optimism on the Dodgers down a notch, until the next domino drops. Although I also completely forgot about Ryu.....who if he's gets back to form is a decent 2-3 starter.

If it forces the Dodgers to be more aggressive in the trade market, then the Iwakuma thing is a blessing in disguise. His innings have been going down, and is probably a time bomb. The Dodgers can still get Mike Leake and trade for a number 2 starter. This depends on them being able to see that their staff isn't good enough to win.

The Dodgers will not make the playoffs, which makes me worry for the future mental sanity of Stock Matusow.

    Yankees trade for Chapman.

This is just LOL watching big money teams try to copy the Royals mode of winning. While it wouldn't surprise me to see the entire sport at some point evolve to where a starter only pitches maybe once through the order (unless he's a superstar).....it doesn't seem like its happening yet...and it won't happen until MLB & MLBPA sign off on how to reward a "win". Most likely in this case, 1 or 2 of those big 3 the Yankees have now regress a bit this year and it looks like a failure. It happened already to the Royals....their bullpen was better the year before last.

This reminds me of all the NFL teams rushing to try two tight end sets after the Pats raged with Gronk and Hernandez. Tis a good time to be a relief pitcher free agent in MLB right now.

Also really shows how much teams forget about sample size when judging pitchers.....that perhaps its easier to predict a guy pitching 200 innings/year than the guy pitching 50????

Yeah, not a lot of creativity in sports management. They did steal Chapman, though. My first thought was that the Yankees already know what his suspension is going to be. I haven't followed Chapman's domestic violence story very closely, but I remember something about him firing a gun during an argument. It's possible he gets a pretty long suspension.

Apparently the Dodgers think Scott Kazmir will replace Grienke. Kazmir just signed for 3 years, $48 million. One, thats way too much for Kazmir, and two LOL at the Dodgers being competitive in 2016

It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

Druff, as you can see on page 29, I get to pick Sizzle's avatar for a month. The Dodgers had teh 6th best record in the MLB in 2016.

    PFA, please post suggestions.

PFA, but you probably hate the Cardinals, though. I'll think of something.
