see 3rd order win projection: "offensive and defensive stats adjusted for quality of opponents"

i am interpreting that to mean so far the Dodgers schedule has been difficult and the remaining schedule is easier--perhaps i have that wrong, and if anyone knows exactly i welcome their sharing.

You can slightly infer that from the 2nd and 3rd order columns, but the primary thing those show is a teams "clutch" level....or in reality, their luck on clustering hits. That shows the Dodgers have been the 2nd unluckiest team thus far, with only Oakland worse (and much worse lol). On the flip side, the Twins have been by far the luckiest team. So say Twins-Dodgers had played a 3-game series so far and the box scores went

Game 1 Twins 5 runs off 7 hits
Dodgers 2 runs off 10 hits
    Game 2 Twins 4 -6
    Dodgers 3-12
    Game 3 Twins 1-3
    Dodgers 8-14

The twins would have won 2 of the three games, but the underlying stats would show the Dodgers should have won like 2.5.

It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

Rookie Chris Heston from the Giants just threw a no hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks BUT he hit three batters.

No it's a great thing just like any no hitter it's just a weird stat you don't see much when we look at typical no hitters it's errors and walks that screw up the perfect game the most.

The MLB wants to speed up the game. Just plunk Cabrerra in the ribs instead of the charade of throwing 4 balls.

VMart might give up the outside corner.

It's a BS award at this point. Who was the only player in the game to have multiple hits? Lorenzo Cain. Same rbi's, runs scored, Sb, etc. Trout just wins it just because

25 Ks total. Maybe a pitcher should have been considered

Those were good times. Druff thrashing about trying to achieve inner peace.

I am reading that book "The Best Team Money Can Buy" about the Dodgers. Pretty good. Required reading in the cable money era.

The relationship & similarity between the Dodgers and Red Sox is even more remarkable than I knew. The previous owner, McCourt, a Boston developer is a priceless story. McCourt tried to buy the Red Sox before John Henry locked it up. McCourt's claim to fame was a parking lot in South Boston. You got to be from New York or Boston to understand the value. I digress..... I found the review of all the financial shananigans very interesting. McCourt binked it in the end. Didn't know that.

The way the Dodgers splash around the dough with no real plan is also familiar. Check out the Red Sox record or the game tonight. Get ready Druff. You are looking into the future.

So far, the Grieinke chapter was god. I love this kid. A true nut. Greinke suffers from social anxiety disorder. He is a character of the highest order. He is incapable of lying or spinning the truth. His interviews are epic. He was/is so obsessive compulsive he cannot stop analyzing & watching hitters and watching baseball on ESPN. He will attend baseball games that aren't the Dodgers to scout. He goes to high school games to get reads on future batters.

His dream allegedly is to start a lawn care business when he retires. Lol.

He was so antsy between starts that he couldn't take it. He wanted to ask to be converted to shortstop so he could play everyday. He seriously considered retiring at 22. He is a spectacular athlete. Was a monster tennis player as a youth with like a 50-0 streak. The pressure got to him and he walked away from tennis. Greinke didn't start pitching until senior year of high school. Wtf.

There was a clip of him in the middle of the recent Grantland article "Outer-third Omnipotence: Why No One Can Score on Zack Grienke".

    http://grantland.com/the-triangle/ml...nnings-streak/

An ridiculously athletic "beautiful mind" freak. I would never describe Kershaw as upper tier athletic. Kemp yes.

Kershaw & Greinke are a force. Kinda fell in love with Joc Pederson (the brother and all) during home run derby. But this is a flawed team. Absolutely, no guts. Despise AGon.

    Royals are the complete package.

Good stuff, didn't know Greinke was such a psycho genius. Dodgers have to trade Guerrero for a pitcher, right? I hope they end up w/Cueto somehow.
