Things are going sour, if the 49ers don't win this weekend, I don't see how they make the playoffs.

One way or another this looks like it is coming to an end.
As a 49er fan it is kind of hard to take that the owner can't suck it up.
After 10 years of BS, he took them to 3 straight NFC championship games.

Jed better have a good back up plan, but Michigan makes the most sense to me.

Michigan will be interesting...Harbaugh fixed Univ of California at San Diego and then Stanford plus had success at San Francisco...so he will probably fix Michigan too; the question is will he load up his team with 5th year offensive linemen as he did at Stanford (lots of corn fed white boys available in that part of the country) or will he go with the Pistol Option style he did with the 49ers?

That statement is why I thought he'd be better suited for college.
# 1 I don't think big time college is a step down from the NFL.
# 2 he can "spark" 18 and 19 year old guys trying to make a college team easier than he can 22 to 30 year old millionaires.
# 3 by the time they do get sick of him, they have 1 or 2 years left. They will stick it out at that point for a number of reasons, especially if they are winning.

He likes to rock boats, too. Nick Saban is already firing shots at him.
