Based solely on the grammar of that single post Vegas would stand a decent chance of losing (probably 40%) and owe Searles. I don't know if a grammar hotline is able to look at all the information and make a decision on the terms of a bet. If I was Vegas i wouldn't agree to this. I think hutmaster is onto something here. If jsearles and vegas are really interested in getting this resolved (and reading through these threads, sometimes have doubts about that), then why not EACH escrow $500 and agree on ONE authority from the below list of "grammar hotlines" and let a trusted third party submit the relevant posts (including Vegas's 25 instances of "then") via e-mail to the authority, whose ruling is binding and not appealable?
