I remember when that movie theater siege happened. I think the Russians killed just as many people as the militants did. They just handle things differently over there. Killed every single one of the terrorists. They interviewed some high level Russian military commander who was asked about the loss of innocent lives and he said something along the lines of "we regret we could not save everyone" in a passive, almost joking tone. The militants had ties to both the Chechen rebels and Islamist militant organizations.
I agree. If they bombed the Russian embassy, then it may be their independence ideology, but this is more straight terror.
I have to think the Russians find it a bit amusing that this is now the second group, groups about which we condemned Russia's treatment of, that have now come back to bite us in the ass. We arm the Taliban against the Russians, they later blow up NYC. We condemn Russia for their smashing Chechen skulls after the Chechens killed all those people in the movie theater, and they end up doing terror here eventually. Add in arming Iraq against Iran, and eventually getting shot at with our own shit, and we seem to step on our own dicks a whole lot. Not even saying I don't understand their logic at the time for doing those things, but with hindsight, it has came back to bite us in the ass now on more than one occasion.

Amazing if he did. I still expect them to find him dead in some storm pipe that only a local would know. Hard to believe they lit his brother up with that many shots to have him walk away unscathed. If he did, it would have to be the most impressive escape from a massive manhunt ever pulled off. Makes The Fugitive look like walking away from a min security facility on work release.
I thought something similar. I listened to the scanner for 13 plus hours. They had swat all over his place (pretty sure, not 100% it was his). They were pretty sure it was booby trapped so they never entered. Seemed like they were certain he was in there possibly injured and barricaded himself inside/booby trapped it and was maybe dying and ready for his last stand. I thought that was a decent possibility, albeit small. I don't know what the sewage systems are like but that's the last place they'd look and possibly where I'd go if I didn't have any out.
Exhausted. Hope that made sense lol. I had plenty of time to think of all types of possibilities and I guess that's what I wanted to have happen. Some epic finale.

I think it means make sure you don't accidentally hold your transmit button down which would hinder others from using that channel.
