So this great country of yours can prevent you from playing poker yet they can't prevent you from owning handguns?

Forget prevention, they have next to no control over gun ownership?

Do nothing.......and wait for the next time when your kids may be involved
you could always go buy a gun and stand in front of the school to protect the kids

Right. What is the alternative? Do you have a guard at every door? Do you have metal detection security like

every airport has? Is that the best way to address the problem?

meaning? It's more stringent or less? I can assure you European security is the tightest of all.

This is the price we pay for lax gun laws. Security has to be increased just to provide a sense of security

in the community. I don't sweat it if my door goes unlocked but I live in a different region of the world.

Arming everyone is not the answer because the nutjobs take advantage of it.....see recent history

more stringent. i prefer to fly air canada because us airlines are the pits, but airport security there is a pain to deal with at times, at least as a foreigner.

I don't know about others but the news today caused me a deep introspection/depression. I don't watch the news on purpose because of the

regular horrors it brings each night.......Today's news hit me instantly. I can't stop thinking about the repercussions.....family, friends etc.

It can be prevented. To any degree will be a plus

Useful idiots are used as emotional leverage to gain more power for those who would love to dominate every last one of us. Large coalition political bodies long to return to the days of being able to silence us by whisking us away under cover of night or just blasting away at us in broad daylight. They don't like that we talk back to them and call them tax leaches and temps. You won't fully understand it until it bites you in the ass personally. I pray I never have to say I told you so.

It's really so sad. Ignorance appears to be rampant. Can you tell someone they're ignorant...of course not

    Will they listen?......Obviously not

So what is the answer? Has history always been wrong but now with these new politicians are suddenly all just hunky dorey? Explain.

You are more likely to be killed by a car. Conversely you could be killed by a car just as efficiently.

I can't possibly argue with that logic.

He has a good point as it pertains to how the politicians, the media, and the anti-gun lobbies will use the events of today to their advantage. Hypothetically, if the guy had decided to plow a Hummer into a group of kids on a playground, they would be on the tv talking about how we need more help for the mentally ill nonstop. Instead unscrupulous reporters have been shoving microphones into the faces of children all day in an attempt to exploit them for an increased viewership while the politicians are already pushing more gun control ideas forward.

No retort? Just ad homonyms again? Glad that we have free speech so that a board like this can exist. Would hate to have you run afoul of your government and have you dragged off for re-education.
