Why were they probing his e-mail?

I deleted those posts because I wanted the two threads merged, but not ruined by trolling. SixToedPete was trolling, so I dumped the posts.

To date youve sanctioned limitles, not because he was threatening other users with violence, but only after he chickened out hilariously. I really thought this would be a place for grownups to talk about grownup things, hence me wanting nothing to do with the belligerent stupidity of this exact thread, that you merged my grownup thread into.

I agree this is an odd story. Patraeus' wife of some 30 odd years looks like a pleasant enough woman but his mistress is hot.

As others have pointed out this sort of thing goes on all the time. Of course it's not moral but good grief, the CIA Director was banging a sweet piece of ass and he enjoyed every stroke, every moment.

So, it's not that great of a surprise, which makes me wonder if there's much more to this story.

You are welcome to post where you want, but I hope you can understand where I am coming from.

If I start allowing people to make nearly-identical threads to get away from certain people they don't like discussing the topic in an existing thread, the board will become a mess. There will be all kinds of fragmented discussions about the exact same topic, and it will annoy most readers.

limitles was napped for a variety of reasons. The threats were indeed a large factor, as was his general negativity where he showed up in threads with peaceful, mature discussion and outright attacked people he didn't like. When I saw that occurring, I took away his posting access.

408Mike was dominating the board, which was why I gave him a post restriction which allowed him to participate in the forum without dominating it. That has worked, as Mike is no longer dominating every thread here, and yet he isn't banned and can still speak his mind.

Overall I am trying to just be fair to everyone, and to run a forum where everyone can speak their mind, but to where intelligent discussions can also take place without being contaminated by needless trolling or stupidity. It is often a tough balance to maintain, but I am trying my best.

In this case, I merged the two threads, but at the same time, deleted SixToedPete's needless attacks on you.

You have brought a lot of good content and discussion to this forum, and I appreciate that. I hope you change your mind about leaving, but if not, it's been good having you here.

As long as SixToedPete stays on topic and doesn't turn the thread into trolling, I want him to be able to express his opinion, even if it's not popular or credible.

I'm sure you can see how the forum will become a mess if I just let people start new, identical topics whenever existing topics feature posters they don't like.

Patraus has only been part of the intelligence community for 14 months. He had absolutely no background in espionage when he was put in charge of the CIA. Obama wanted someone popular among moderate Conservatives as part of his administration who also wasn't a Republican, and not many people fit the bill. The Director of the CIA is technically a 4 star general, so that worked. Since the DCIA now reports to the Director of National Intelligence, it's not as important of a position anymore. When's the last time you saw the DNI mentioned in the news?

Sarah Palin using her yahoo account to conduct official business was illegal. And her password was "popcorn". Using a second account to get around subpoena and data retention rules was a trick she may have learned from Karl Rove. In the 6 years he worked in the White House, he never wrote an email from his whitehouse.gov address. Everything went through his RNC.org account.

1) The White House knew of this affair for months. And it was not just an affair. Apparently she dumped him a few months ago, and he sent her THOUSANDS of emails trying to reconcile

2) The White House knew he had to go, because not only could he be blackmailed, his judgment was terrible in being completely obsessed with some groupie ghostwriter. However, if you believe what you read the White House wanted to wait until after the election to dump him to avoid a controversy

3) Then Benghazi hit, which at the minimum was deemed a total intelligence failure

So you had a total intelligence failure, the guy who was head of the CIA was focused on getting his mistress back, and the White House kept him around because they did not want a distraction in the couple months leading up to the election. Maybe if the head of the CIA was focused on his job, rather than acting like some jilted teenager, things would have turned out different.

I have no problem with Patreus working off some steam in some isolated rendezvous. But it was clear the guy was completely obsessed with this lady and it's pretty obvious if you believe what you read, his main focus was her not his job. Thousands of emails?
