My dog was a Siberian Husky... No one ever heard of a dog like her living that long... I fed her whatever I ate, she never ate dog food, never got sick or needed to go to the vet... I took her every once in awhile, but I never had to take her for illness... She loved cheeseburgers and rice... She never bit anyone. she snapped at a few people who acted aggressively toward me, and I'm pretty certain she would have murdered anyone who ever tried to hurt me. She maybe shit in the house a dozen times lifetime, and I never did any type of training with her.

I was a kid, I pretty much did everything your not suppose to do with a dog and she lived to be 21, she wasn't even blind or sick when I put her down, she probably would have lived 5 more years but she was just in terrible pain walking and it was sad to watch... I can't even think about my childhood without getting a little choked up over it... My parents paid 5 bucks for her in the 80's and gave her to me for my 6th birthday...

My daughter keeps telling me she wants a little dog but I can't bring myself to do it, because I know the outcome.
Putting down a dog is one of the few times I've ever cried. I had to put down my 11 year old Sheltie in 2005 & had her cremated & she's on the mantle next to the last picture we took of her. Best dog ever. I too get choked up thinking of her.
Took me 2.5 years to come to grips with it & even though I said I'd never have another dog I got Comet(pictured earlier)& she is also a great dog. Couldn't have picked 2 greater companions in my life than Pepper & Comet.
I'm sure others fell the same way.
