His coach, Vanessa Selbst, couldn't believe it either. He obviously thought he was racing against a smallish pair & felt he had to get lucky to win it all so he might as well try to get lucky while he had the chips to put himself in the driver's seat. Thought Greg Merson was the better player so it 's probably not a terrible strategy but, I agree, I would have waited a little longer.
