There's a reason for that .... you really should not be putting electrical items in the bathroom unless they are specifically designed for that environment.

You should ensure at the absolute least that your power to the TV and other equipment is protected by its own RCD/GFCI.

Regardless of having an extractor fan (lol) that doesn't make you any less wet after you get out the shower. Once you're wet your electrical resistance decreases, which seriously increases the likelihood of an electric shock when dealing with mains voltage electricity.
Obviously I thought about the danger of having a TV and a cable box hanging over an area that gets filled with water. To begin with, this bathroom is part of the master bedroom. It is extremely wide open with no door enclosing the area. I literally never get any moisture build up in there, even after taking a long shower. I got a humidity reading in the area where the TV is before I set this up, and the highest it got was 25%. We usually sit around 20%.

The outlet to the TV is grounded and protected and will shut off if anything wet comes in contact with a power source. This is an impossibility though, because even if the box or TV somehow fell into the bathtub the cables will pull out of the outlet long before it would hit the water. All of this was considered before starting this project, there is literally no chance of being electrocuted by this set up. The outlet to all of this isn't even in the actual bathroom to begin with. It is on the opposite side of the wall that the TV is hanging on.

Also, there is absolutely no reason at all to come in contact with this set up after taking a shower. I would purposely have to get out of the shower and walk 5 feet over to that area and reach up and touch the cable box or TV. Again, never going to happen.

That's actually pretty cool but I would have had an electrician do the job.

Always better to be safe than sorry.

I notice a theme in your projects. What's next?

Vegas, you're a smart man. For $25 you can get a GFCI Outlet and just replace your existing outlet with it. It is code all over for a reason. Shit happens and you could even negate your house insurance if something were to happen. It's a simple job.

I have two of these. They sell two different frequencies, so you need one of each frequency if you do get two.

Anyway, this thing kicks ass. It allows you to put your cable box anywhere and the remote works using sound instead of light, meaning that you don't even have to point it in any direction for it to work. It has a pretty good range (like 50 feet).

The only remaining problem is connecting your cable box to the TV if it's in a different room, but that's just a matter of running a long HDMI cable through the wall.

    Anyway, good job, vegas!

I have to admit that, despite having a WSOP Bracelet, I don't have a TV in any of my bathrooms.
I'm not understanding exactly what you use this for. Help me out seems interesting.

Weird... I never spend enough time in the bathroom to require a TV in there... maybe if you loved to soak in the TV for hours, but your TV isn't in the right spot for viewing in the bathtub imo. It looks like the only good view is from the toilet. Also, isn't this what iPads are for? You can stream a lot of shows including sports onto your iPad and just carry it from room to room with you for situation such as a crazy-long poop session. Just how long do sit on the toilet? Like more than 15 minutes?

Vegas is a interesting fellow. He already announced he had a prostate disease from unprotected ass sex and now this fucking guy is hanging electronics very close to water. Not much you can to with a guy like this, other than massive prayers. Stay strong, old friend.

Vwls, the TV tilts over so when you lay in the tub you have a perfect view... But that is not why it is in there. On the left in this picture is where my shower is. It is a glass enclosed shower. When standing in it with your back to the shower head you are looking directly at the TV.

I've never known anyone with a professonally installed TV in their bathroom. Actually, I've never known anyone with a TV in their bathroom. I think this means you made it to the big leagues. Good job Mr Vegas.

Make sure you take Deals advice & put that on a GFCI plugin for this. It's actually the law for any bathroom plug at least where I live.

He just said it already was. 95% of bathrooms and kitchens already have them anyway. It's code everywhere.

You have to start sportsbetting more to make this practical. That's about the only time I think I would use it, when I'm sweating action and need to get ready to go out. Obviously it will impress the shallow young hotties, and I'm not saying that as a pejorative. That is money well spent.

My worry is I electrocute myself somehow and be discovered after a few days of lying in cold water with my ball sack shriveled up like a prune.

You're only one step away from calling Puddy to walk you through dismantling the latch hasp from the auxiliary drainage line to install your new Clarkman garbage disposal.
