Nice kick.
Nice kick.
money
kid only has a partial scholarship to eastern washington......lol
not many people can kick the ball that far.
This blew my mind until I learned that high school teams use smaller footballs than NFL teams. It's still damn impressive though.
EDIT: Apparently they can use tees also.

Yeah, I took a look at field goal records in Wikipedia and just couldn't believe how many people in NCAA and highschool have kicked FGs longer than 63 yards (the long standing NFL record). Some high school kid supposedly achieved a 73 yarder.

The only conclusion I could draw is that maybe NFL coaches just weren't attempting longer field goals, or that the sample size of games played is much higher than NFL.
If the ball was on a fucking tee and the NFL kickers used those small balls, they could kick 80 yarders. With an NFL ball on a tee, every kicker playing now could hit a 70 yarder some up to 75. You know how when they kick off from the 35 yard line and put it out of the back of the endzone? Yeah that is about a 73-74 yarder. Even if it lands in the middle of the endzone that is (about) a 70 yarder.
The tee is what makes the difference.
No tees were allowed when I was in HS but you're correct, a small 1 inch tee is allowed in HS football games these days.
Thanks for pointing that out. The size difference between a HS/college football and one used in the NFL is negligible.
I don't know if that kid used a tee but I assume he did. As others have mentioned, a tee makes a huge difference.
Still, it's a remarkable achievement.
BTW, the 67 yard field goal tied that game. Is there a PFA member from that neck of the woods who can tell us who won that game?
The kicker's team won.

Remember 6TP, if you have a question about an obscure football game, you can go to a magical place called Google. They can answer your elementary questions. Please leave the rest of us out of it.
