It's not even about bad service. It's him acting like a rich 16 year old girl who didn't get the right color BMW for their birthday. Half the stuff he deducts for aren't even decisions the servers maker, they are rules their employers require. He's gonna deduct from the tip of some poor bastard for telling him their name? Deduct for anyone under 16 being around? Like he's the fucking pope? I hope some waiter smashes his arrogant fucking face in.
I sincerely hope Druff isn't like this or I can almost guarantee he has eaten more cum than Jenna Jameson and more snot and spit than bus full of special ed kids.
I got the sense this was mostly tongue in cheek.
Why not just enjoy your meal and pay the 20%?
Jesus, what a piece of shit. The only thing I expect is for the server to be cordial and able to answer a question if I have one. I give 20% almost all of the time if these two things are present.
Someone should start a "how to tip poker dealers after a tournament win" in same style. Deduct 1% if this.
i think he wrote this after losing a big bet and had shitty service at a restaurant.
i remember taking w/ dalla when he was a writer/sports handicapper at mad jacks sports in the y2k era. i was w/ another site at the time and used to chew the fat w/ him. he didn't seem like a douche in my conversations w/ him.
Im now a fan of Peter Falcone
The way you treat waiters and other working class people that serve you says a lot about what sort of a person you are. I'm not typically one for snap judgement, but when I see someone being a dick to a cashier or waiter, I immediately dislike them. We don't live in a caste system. It's not okay to treat strangers like they're beneath you.
I hate the tipping system, but I abide by it. 20% minimum. I'm not going to take food off someone's plate because a restaurant is busy or someone is new to the job, nor am I going to treat them like dirt. I smile, say please and thank you, and try to behave like a civilized person. The only time I ever tip small is if someone is flat out rude to me.
I also agree with Azzclown that fucking with people in the food service industry is just a bad idea, morality aside. If you do this on a regular basis, you're pretty much guaranteed to have ingested bodily fluids at some point.
