Not much worse can happen in a mma fight besides someone dying.
We've seen several bad nose breaks (Brandon Vera comes to mind) and Anderson Silva leg snap but those you can heal and live a normal life, including fighting again like both those guys have done but this is going to be a lifetime of trauma.
I'm just picturing the serious migraine I get a few times a year that lasts a day, times that by 50, and having to deal with that forever. It's making me sick to even think about it!
Hopefully the doctors can do enough for Cyborg to make his everyday life better but this is serious business.
pretty sure they can use those things that get dents out of cars in this situation
seriously, short zuffa. the whole 'boxing is more dangerous' argument just fell apart like gare's girdle at an olive garden buffet.
Bellator 158 was better than Ufc 200, just sayin
I felt like who ever bought Zuffa over paid big time and that was before Cyborgs ex w shattered skull. The new owners need to relax the PED testing or have boring events.
You can tell they didn't read this thread or they would know what's up w/ ped's, isnt that right chapstick?
I think Brock and Johnny Bones should team up and start a search for the real cheaters.

So you think on the heels of two of their biggest stars getting popped for steroids, and countless others since the USADA partnership, they are going to jump off the cliff and end the relationship at a time like this?? HAHAHHAHA if you could draw up one of the worst PR moves in the history of professional sports organizations, that would be the way to do it.
The USADA horse is already out of the barn, and there aint no getting him back in. UFC is stuck.
Lesnar had two drug test fails. One was fight night and the other was June 28th.
The Lesnar vs Hunt fight is likely going to be changed to a no contest.

This stuff they tested positive for, clomiphene (clomid), if I'm not mistaken is the stuff you take for post cycle therapy when coming off testosterone cycles. Seems like that would all but ensure that they were on steroids and not just some bullshit supplement that they purchased over the counter.
TUF 24 will be all champions from other Orgs.

They are juicing for sure.
Not sure why this is so hard for UFC to fix. When a cheater fails one test they give up at least 50% of their prize purse and the next time it's 100% even if they have fought (UFC covers medical still for that fighter if they got hurt tho).
You stick this in the contract and make these guys sign it! The UFC also should compensate a fighter who fought clean when the test comes out after the fact that their opponent was juicing and give some type of compensation to a case like Cormier had finding out 3 days before the fight he trained months for that the fight it's happening because their opponent pissed dirty. Cormier got paid but at least something but what a true fair amount is really depends. It's part of the sport but still finding out on the short notice he did is ridiculous.
Brock Lesnar has done enough jobs in his life in pro wrestling so why he feels he needs to juice it up when he will get his 2.5 million to show up regardless of the outcome is silly. It's not like he is returning to UFC full time trying to get into title contention.
It hasn't got crazy yet but this will become a PR nightmare for the WWE if they don't punish Brock as well. If they want to get around it the WWE should be giving Brock the famous one month suspensions they always do as of today so Brock can still show up on August 21st for his scheduled fight at Summerslam.
Yes, clomid and letro. (Bones got popped for letro too)
Both 1A and 1B for post cycle therapy coming off juice to prevent estrogen rebound and unwanted sides.
They are liars, all of them, but 99.9% of the public has no clue nor will ever understand what these substances are, so they just keep lying.
Mendes gone for 2 years due to testing for growth hormone
http://mmajunkie.com/?p=203226
LOL at his "I didn't do my homework" statement. I guess by "homework" he means, "I should of done a better job of finding a better masking agent"
BTW, LOL at this Sonnen vs Malki Kawa (Jon Jones Manager) interview. Cringe worthy, especially at 14:10 comparing those who take tainted supplements like a girl at the bar who gets drugged
http://bit.ly/2ahh8Qc
Mendes before ufc 179:
"If Aldo can't stay healthy and is too fragile to go through a training camp, then I think it is time to step aside and let guys who are able to do that and able to push through all that stuff, to be a champ."
Aldo firing those shots:
"Maybe I have so many injuries because I'm not taking the same ‘supplements' you take, I have injuries because I train a lot to beat you like I did last time, and I think you remember that and still have nightmares about it. I did all the medical exams I had to do, but if you're a doctor now, I can send them so you can take a look. Maybe you can prescript one of your supplements so I can heal faster."
always fun to see who else popped for the same things in different sports, but when I checked the USADA site, Chad Mendes is the only person they have ever had fail for Growth Hormone-Releasing Hexapeptide.
so its not hGH exactly, but it is an injectable, which makes any excuse really hard.

Those peptides are hot right now. They are pretty weak honestly if not stacked with anything else.
This is one of those things that isn't worth cheating for, the effects are pretty mild. But most use it in conjunction with a more comprehensive regular HGH/steroid program. So maybe they missed that and only saw this somehow IDK.

It has been about a decade since peptides were introduced to the BB’ing community on a large scale. Prior to that time, there were rumblings of IGF-1 being circulated among some of the top pros, but by and large, this class of drugs was not yet discussed or available to the public. As the years passed by, we saw more and more drugs which carried the title of peptide, hit the market. However, a lack of clinical research, availability issues, contradictory information, and the rapidity with which new products were released into the marketplace left many BB’rs with unanswered questions.
Surely, the use of the word “peptide” is at least partially to blame for this problem. A general term, the word peptide is somewhat ambiguous in nature, as it is used to describe vast array of different compounds. Unlike anabolic steroids, peptides are not a single class of drugs with uniform effects. Rather, they encompass a broad range of different compounds which promote a diverse physiological response. There are literally 1000’s of different peptides in the world, many of which have no legitimate application in bodybuilding. Even when limiting this conversation to those peptides specifically used for BB’ing, we are still left with about a dozen or so categories of drugs to familiarize ourselves with. With so much to learn, it is easy to see why there is so much confusion surrounding this topic.
A peptide is defined as a chain of 50 or fewer amino acids with an amino-carboxyl end, although there are exceptions to the rule. They are closely related to proteins, differing only by the amount of amino acids present in the chain. Often, the two terms are used interchangeably. For example, insulin is both a peptide and a protein. Peptides can be natural in origin and found in our daily diet (leucine peptides) or they can be synthetic drugs produced in a lab (IGF-1 LR3).
Most BB’rs have a tendency to view peptides as a new breed of performance enhancer, when in reality they have been in use by BB’rs for over 30 years. The first of these to come on the scene were insulin and growth hormone. Indisputably effective, these 2 drugs, along with AAS, form the backbone of most elite PED regimens today. However, it wasn’t until the emergence of IGF-1 that the word “peptide” was introduced to the public and the market began to take on its present form. Ever since then, there has been no shortage of opinions regarding the role of peptides in a BBr’s program. Some have proclaimed them to be the holy grail of performance enhancement, while others have derided them, urging others to stay away. Both perspectives are silly and demonstrate ignorance on the subject as a whole. Making such a generalized statement would be akin to saying all drugs are either good or bad. Obviously, such as statement would never be taken seriously. One must first know what the drug is and what it is supposed to do before being able to render any sort of opinion on its effectiveness. It is no different with peptides.
Some of the most common classes of peptides used in BB’ing are the IGF-1’s (muscle growth & recovery), GHRP’s/Ghrelin Mimetics (GH release/appetite stimulation), GHRH’s (GH release), Melanotropins (tanning & libido-sexual function improvement), and the Thymosins (reparation of injured or damaged tissues/ injury prevention). Often times, it can be difficult to distinguish between the all various peptides, research chemicals, and proteins sold through peptide companies, due to the sheer number of drugs available.
Whether or not a particular peptide has value will depend on his needs and/or goals of the BB’r. Many peptides offer benefits not found with traditional AAS, while others act more as adjuncts, complimenting the growth & recovery aspects of AAS. When it comes to muscle growth, one should always remember that AAS form the foundation of any successful PED program. No other category of drugs has been proven to enhance the hypertrophy process as powerfully as steroids have. This is important to understand, as it helps the prospective peptide user set realistic expectations regarding potential results. Growth & recovery peptides are not a replacement for AAS. Rather, the two work synergistically to improve results beyond what can be achieved with AAS alone and typically, they do so with little to no serious side effects.
The IGF-1’s are a prime example. Users of these peptides should not expect to blow-up overnight, but they should expect consistent and noticeable increases in muscular size, fullness, and recovery rate. Some may argue that AAS already elevate IGF-1 levels, thereby negating the need for additional IGF-1. However, AAS do a comparatively poor job at this, leaving this growth mechanism largely un-tapped.
Other peptides offer benefits outside the realm of muscle growth, indirectly benefitting the BBr’s physical wellbeing and health. An example of this type of peptide would be TB500 (Thymosin Beta 4.) TB500 is a naturally occurring peptide involved in organ-tissue protection, repair, and regeneration. One of its many functions is to increase the rate of collagen synthesis, while simultaneously reducing inflammation and accelerating wound healing in general. Traditionally, it has been used in horse racing due to its unique ability to sustain connective tissues (cartilage, tendons, and ligaments). This is an obvious benefit in a sport with tremendous physical demands.
When it comes to steroid-using BB’rs, the benefits may be even more pronounced. Studies have shown that testosterone use (as well as other AAS) alone can reduce collagen production by up to 80%. When coupled with the repetitive stress of weight training, it is easy to see why connective tissue injuries rank among the most common in BB’ing. TB500 can help reverse the deleterious effects of AAS on collagen synthesis, thereby reducing the chance of injury. This is just one of many benefits associated with this peptide and with 100’s of published studies documenting its effectiveness, it is worthy addition to the program of any BB’r seeking to correct or prevent these training related issues.
Any discussion on peptides would not be complete with mentioning some of the newer proteins which have entered the market. Since the distinction between proteins and peptides is blurry at best, it only makes sense to include them in the conversation. A perfect example are the myostatin inhibitors. Containing 100’s of amino acids in a precise sequence, these compounds are both difficult and relatively expensive to make. Of all the newer peptides-proteins, these are easily the most effective for stimulating growth. As technology continues to improve and we find cheaper ways to manufacture these drugs, look for them to take up residence in the programs of BB’rs everywhere.
Fertitta's must have a crystal fucking ball or something......here we go!
http://markhunt.tv/mark-hunt-asks-al...m-immediately/
:popcornQuote:
After purchasing the UFC back in 2000 for just $2 million, the Fertitta brothers transformed it into an International corporate franchise with some $600 million per year in revenues, and most recently sold the company for a staggering $4 billion.
One reason why potential buyers found the UFC so attractive is that reports have suggested that only 10% of its revenues go to its fighters – the men and women who literally shed blood for the sport.
Another selling point is that the UFC effectively control the MMA market and are basically able to set the agenda without any consideration given to the athletes who fight under the UFC banner.
One of the UFC’s most beloved fighters wants to see all of that changed. That fighter is our very own Mark Hunt.
Talking exclusively with MarkHunt.TV, the man commonly known as the “Super Samoan”, spoke about his latest frustrations surrounding fighting two consecutive opponents who had previously been flagged for doping violations. He now wants to use this as motivation to see fighters come together and form a UFC fighters association.
“The way I see it, the Brock Lesnar doping thing is just another reason why we need a fighter’s association,” Hunt said via phone interview. “These guys are just making up the rules as they go.
“First the Reebok thing, then Brock’s 4 month testing exemption. Conor gets pulled off a card for not going to a press conference that me or Brock didn’t go to anyway. Work that out. There’s probably a heap of others.”
Asked if he thought that the UFC had accumulated too much power, Hunt agreed vehemently.
“You just have to look at how Ariel gets his media pass taken away cause he broke a story about Brock, then he gets it back when other media stood up for him and called out the UFC.” He said. “These guys are just making sh*t it up as they go.
“Yet fighters refuse to support other fighters when they f*ck us over.
“They say they are cleaning up the sport, yet I’ve risked my health two times against guys cheating since this USADA thing started. I was told Brock was gonna be tested when I took the fight, he comes in looking fricken juicy as hell and then I find out he’s popped after the PPV has already been sold.
“It’s ridiculous. The fact that they haven’t even bothered to make contact with me since all of this happened just proves they don’t care.
“I don’t even know how he made 265lbs that guy, he looked about 500kgs. I mean shucks, look at the pictures and tell me this guy passed the smell test that Jeff guy talks about. I mean even the other passport stuff, which is supposed to be important for testing, they woulda had none of that from Brock because of the exemption.
“If you ask me the whole point of the four month testing period should be to make sure someone doesn’t pop back in, juiced to the gills, and beat the crap out of the guys who are clean and have been clean and tested this whole time.
“I’m pretty sure all of this stuff is just there to look good for the sale if you ask me.”
When asked to clarify how he felt about them pulling Conor off on the historic card, again, Hunt didn’t hold back.
“Once they decided they were gunna cut Conor out, they didn’t care, they just needed a name to make 200 big.” he said. “Exemptions for Brock but not for Conor, I don’t know how you can just do that.
“These guys have lined there pockets with our blood if you ask me. I mean they deserve to get paid no doubt, they took the UFC from nothing into what it is today, but come on, most of the guys fighting, get paid nothing and have no benefits.
“If you ask me there needs to be a system where they at least run things past the fighters before making these decisions and the fighters can look out for each other. We need an association where we can have our voices heard. We are massive reason why fans watch the sport and we risk our health to do it.”
When asked if he was interested in leading the charge for a Fighters Association despite the risk of a potential fall out with the UFC, he said he would.
“I’m not worried about the UFC,” he said. “Shucks, I’ve been fighting my whole life. Fighting to survive in my home, to the ring and now cage. These guys didn’t even want me in the UFC but here I am. I’m not scared of them.
“I’m not sure what its like in the states, but in Australia workers stick together to make sure their voice is heard. Lots of guys have talked about this, but someone needs to make this happen and I’m happy for it to be me.”
When asked what the next step in forming an official UFC fighters association was, Hunt suggested interested fighters should contact him directly.
“I mean shucks I’m not an expert on all this, but me and my team have been talking to the experts about how to make this a reality,” he said.
“To the fighters listening to this I want them to get in touch with me via my Facebook page and we can get thing going. I won’t name anyone until we sort it all out, but get in touch and lets make this happen.”
Rut Roh
If they lose a 4 BILLION DOLLAR deal over all this steroid shit......that is what trying to win a public relations battle instead of fans will get you. Holy shit is right.
If I was the one about to fork over that kind of money, and saw what an absolute shitshow it has been for the last month, it would send up red flags all over the place. Damn right I would be having second thoughts. And if the paperwork aint signed, there isn't any deal.
the peptide Mendes tested for has a half life of 15-60 minutes.
USADA a bunch of killers.
I think dana is in for a rude lesson about what the words 'done deal' mean to a chinese bank.
Dana said the UFC wasn't for sale for a while when the rumors were flying around which they clearly were in negotiations so I wouldn't put a lot of stock into what he says.
i heard the jews are pissed that dana was at the rnc sucking trumps cock
guess which ufc fighters brother just got suspended from the nfl for peds
NOT YUNG ARTHUR
Also I have like 5 pages on what a disgrace his parents are for not going with Artholomew
Decent weekend for fighting with UFC on FOX tomorrow, Bellator main card on Spike right now, and Glory Kickboxing main card airs on ESPN 2 at 11pm EST.
FAKE
HAHAHA
im sure it had nothing to do with him trying to get a fighters union started
Edson Barboza don't always bring it but the guy is exciting to watch.
