The reason why they want Trump out is because he is not part of the ecosystem.

The Republican Establishment, as they are referred to, share in the profits of the clusterfuck that is our federal government.

The reason why the Republican Establishment has not dismantled Obamacare or defunded it or not really put up much of a snit other than being vocal is because of one twisted little factoid:

When the Republicans are completely in charge of it, they will get to pay off their friends with the contracts instead of the Democrats.

That is why they can't AFFORD to have Trump in there. He actually wants a wall and to repeal Obamacare for REAL. Those other dudes give all kinds of things lip service, but at the end of the day when they can dismantle or defund things like The Omnibus Bill, they don't. They don't even try. I was watching some of that rally today, he was really reaching for material like this picture asking ppl to raise their hand to pledge their vote or something. But thatll happen if ur tired and going off the cuff 15 hrs a day every day. And there was a protester every 5-10 minutes, weird loosey goosey scene, don't remember him talking any policy at all.

All states tonight are proportional so really not much is changing. The media pretends that winning a state actually means something. Don't be fooled by them hyping it up. Also many of these states are caucuses and on top of that only allow registered republicans so many of Trumps base can't vote.

Biggest story right now is low numbers for Rubio but that could change quickly once urban areas start reporting.

I can get over 30-1 on Cruz in Kentucky right now, but it still seems like a waste of $.

I don't think I've ever seen a candidate make up a 3.8 point deficit with 66% precincts reporting.

Imo, Trump needs Rubio to stay in. If he gets out I think a significant amount if not practically all of his voters jump to Cruz allowing him to close the overall gap on Trump.

In the early 2000s, I interviewed for an academic position at the U of Kansas, and the three interviewers effusively apologized for the troglodyte shenanigans that the evangelical Kansas pols were doing about education standards. And they promised that Manhattan, where the campus was located, was "normal".

Also, why would you say that Cruz winning Kansas was "[i]ntriguing" if you fully understood the religious nutjobbery of the state? Because he can't win beyond those states.
