Carbon monoxide is heavier than air. The fumes won't rise up and exhaust out the window.

Ok guys Ive made a tube out of paper towel rolls that I emptied to funnel the air outside from the muffler.. This should take the air out no? Also if I do deciden to keep it outside and it gets wet wont the outlets get ruined? I only tried this thing in 69 degree sunny weather. I am now being told dont even put it in the garage? If I keep it outside wont my plugs short? I just tested this out in the garage and tried to get through a half hour of the Jefferson's and only made 20 mins and started to get dizzy. I think it's just me having an anxiety attack because Deal has me scared as hell? I usually do not get these kind of attacks when I am drinking though.. I shut it down and stood in rain for about 10 mins and now am back inside my house smelling of gasoline and fumes.. Plz advise

Put the generator in the garage, leave the garage door open. Run an extention cord to the tv and drink up.

I bought this 2 days ago off a guy a couple towns down from me when i heard that this storm was coming.. This thing works like a charm and I already started it up twice and tested it out.. I added a picture of it.. It's older but runs good and all four outlets work. I just don't want to die watching the game tonight.. I no it is old but I got it for $45 it has a muffler on it and doesn't make much smoke after 5 mins.. If I open my windows should I not be safe with this thing running in my home?

I don't know if you're serious or if this is all tongue in cheek.

Do not run that $45 contraption in your house or garage.

I have a generator on standby. It cost over $2000, has all the bells and whistles but I would never run it in my house or garage.

Pete I am being serious and from the pool results I see everyone is being a jokester here. If i keep it outside my garage will I be all right I just robbed an extension cord from this old lady across the street that has a 100ft extension cord. I knew she had it because she always cuts her grass and i see a cord coming out of the mower. If I run this orange ass cord through my garage window and keep this thing in my alley will I be ok, I cant miss this game..

The thing is, the generator releases carbon monoxide, which is toxic. Running that in your house can be deadly. However, you can reduce the emissions if you clean the exhaust properly. It'll be safe if you wipe it down with the right solution. Go to your bathtub and mix up some ammonia and bleach. Stir it good for about half an hour, then put it in a bucket and wipe down the generator exhaust. You should be good to go.

I'm joking. Please don't mix that stuff together.
No shit. Are you fucking retarded? Great advice.

I want to be clear. My advice is to not use that $45 generator.

You seem determined so I will tell you that should you use it you must place it outside in a well ventilated area away from any buildings. Your extension cord must be a heavy duty extension cord and you must plug that cord into a surge protector strip before connecting it to a refrigerator or TV.

Most generators are not approved for running sophisticated electronic devices like computers and HD TVs. That dinosaur could fry an expensive laptop.

My generator has built in circuit breakers, surge protector and AVR (automatic voltage regulation) and an inverter which assures a more stable electricity flow. I'm sure your generator does not have these features.

If you insist on using that thing make sure you don't let it run out of fuel. When a generator nears empty it will surge dramatically so keep it filled.

U know what may suck the power may not even go out its 7:50 est and its just real rainy outside not much wind.. Ill cut my breaker off after all the work I did here to get this thing set up. That generator weighs at least 250lbs my arms hurt from dragging it around all day from place to place..

I just assumed your power was out. If it's not you might be OK right through the game.

If your cable box shit the bed you might still be able watch the game on broadcast TV. Since the change a few years ago I know regular broadcast TV now shows some cable channels. I don't know if ESPN is one of them because I have never watched broadcast TV since the change. Your old RCA probably won't be able to tune into regular television w/o a convertor box that is built into newer models.

Shit, I hope your power is on.
