I think Demi Lovato is just a lesbian, and has been slowly realizing it. Even the article notes that she broke off an engagement in 2018, stating that she was "too gay to marry a man right now".

In the video posted in that CNN article, she looks more butch than ever.

This non-binary shit is so stupid because it's become a fad. There's also been some concern that it's causing "lesbian erasure", meaning that young butch lesbians are now under social pressure to declare themselves nonbinary or some other "new" gender, rather than just identifying as a butch lesbian as they would have before. This plus the "trans females" (former males) demanding acceptance in the lesbian community makes a lot of lesbians feel really uncomfortable. There's a big battle regarding this matter in western Europe, but for some reason it hasn't become a big thing in the US yet.

Then, of course, there are the totally standard, feminine teenage and college-aged girls who just claim to be "non-binary" for attention. Abigail Shrier did research on this subject and wrote a book about it, which was banned by various major retail outlets, because book-banning is totally okay these days if the book challenges leftist narrative.

In short, this is all mostly a lot of bullshit. There's probably one legit person with true gender dysphoria for every 100 claiming these alternative genders.

Not identifying as female is the sole abnormal thing, but they would behave traditionally female, be the right size of curviness for you, like second dinners, etc. They just shun being called woman/identifying as female and you would have to oblige as well.

Abigail Shrier's book actually made this case -- that most of the teen girls claiming to be "trans" were ones with angst or psychological problems, who in previous decades expressed it through cutting or anorexia. She made a convincing case that a lot of the "trans" teen girls, who are overwhelmingly white and middle/upper class, are simply in need of psychological help.

Now, I realize we aren't talking about teenagers here, but I think the concept is generally the same for any woman who claims to be trans/non-binary but otherwise presents as a normal female. To me that would be a huge red flag.
