I'm 6'2" and 220. I forget which year you met me at WSOP -- 2018 or 2019. If it was 2018, I was heavier than that (probably 235). If it was 2019, I was the same weight as I am today.
I chose these numbers because it allows each of us to lose a maximum of 10 pounds at the current odds. You can even see from my thread about the LPR in 2018, where I talked about going from an all-time high weight of 241, down to 209 in about 5-6 weeks. Then I mentioned elsewhere on the forum that I gained about 2/3 back, and then I mentioned later that I lost 10 pounds back from my unwillingness to buy fast food during the pandemic. So that puts me at 220.
No angling here.
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?
I smell a welch..

I don't understand the point of posting videos. To me this looks like you are not seriously interested in this race, and are just trolling, so you're hoping at least the public gets some lol videos out of it.
Also, speaking of angling...
If I look fast in the video, then you can make excuses as to why you won't do the bet/challenge. If I look slow in the video, then you can go forward with it. Of course, I could re-angle by intentionally running slow in the video, but why am I even bothering?
If you are serious about this race, we can do it, and then whoever wants to attend can video it and post it here.
I’m serious about the race and you’re wanting to wait nearly 3 months. I’ve started exercising like I do most years in the spring. For me to lose less than a pound a week is very plausible. I’m usually 200-205 in winter and get to around 185-190 during the summer. I could easily get to 185 and then eat and drink water and angle your 195 number. It’s a 100 yard dash, not a long run.
If you don’t want to race just say so. Instead you’re putting arbitrary rules on it.

What’s with videos? Hop on a plane to LAX and LFG!
I’d bet both guys here are faster than you’d think. In my life, when people say they’re faster than you’d think, they are usually telling the truth. It’s not an easy thing to be delusional about as we all grow up racing other kids everywhere. It’s not like saying I’m a tough guy when most have only had a few physical altercations in your life or thinking you’re a good basketball player because you could beat the neighbor kids.
I’d want Druff to stretch and run 20-100 sprints somewhere though and see if he still has it before I’d back a bet though. That 40-50 stretch is brutal. For world class athletes it’s 37+, but for average guys with no wear and tear, I’d put it around 43-46. Strength remains. Endurance remains. Speed and agility goes to shit.
This is one of those races I’d take whomever is getting 2-1.
Races are like arm wrestling props. Even if the dude is some scrawny fucker who you could pummel in 10 seconds, if they want to arm wrestle for money, for whatever reason, they’re good at it.
One one hand, LOL at Druff wanting 2-1 odds and all of these weight and temperature restrictions. On the other hand, he wasn't the one that issued the challenge.

If Druff (and all of us) started weekly training, I’m pretty sure he’d do well on the track.
But I have a better idea, let’s meet at a shooting range in Vegas and have a pistol shoot off. Put some bets on the overall paper target scores.
Hey Gringos, It looks like I'll be coming to Vegas with Wifey and some friends to run in the Rock n Roll Half marathon the end of next February. If anybody wants to race this old fart (I'll be 55 then), I'm willing to put some action on it. There are also shorter races (10k and 5k). The races are at night, so Druff can't make excuses about it being too hot. You Gringos have almost a year to train for any of the these races. You can use this as motivation to get healthy and lose some weight, and some $$$$ in prop bets. Challenge made.
I predict someone pulls a calf muscle or strains an achilles tendon. See the Tom Segura/Bert Kreischer 9ft dunk contest (Segura broke his arm and ruptured his patellar tendon on his last dunk attempt). Competitions with middle-aged guys are recipes for disaster.

Odds Druff wears a old dirty worn out pair of new balance-500. Odds Druff will wear knee high socks about -350
-Allergic to the struggle
In the next few days I will go down to the park and test doing some sprints. I haven't done anything like this in a long time, so it's possible that age has slowed me down a lot. I know that about 10 years ago, I was almost as fast as I was when I was much younger. Around that time, I always surprised people with how fast I could run, because I didn't look like someone who could be a fast runner.
As BCR said, things often decline quickly regarding athletic ability between 40 and 50, so maybe time has taken away my ability to run fast. I will test this soon. As I mentioned in the COVID thread, I had that weird cough/chest issue, likely related to some virus, but it has mostly cleared. Once it's all better, I will go to the park and see how I can run.
No videos though.
Dumb response. Clearly I'm not avoiding this or trying to fade away from the topic, if I'm planning upon going to the park and testing how fast I can run.
