Allowing that pretty much assured a terrible controversy unless the election was a blowout.

Team Trump has blown this. Barring something dramatically changing in the next few weeks, Biden will win a close election. Trump might actually win Ohio and Florida, yet still lose. His best chance is mail in ballot spoilage, which go look at the shit show statistics in the primaries, that might actually tip the election due to Dem voters being way more likely to choose this method.

The thought of Biden being president and Kamala likely taking over in his only term legitimately makes me sick. Trump isn't much better, but these are two genuinely disgusting individuals. Biden is the worst kind of liar. His plagiarism and false claims, seriously pathological, that had him ran out of the 88 election should have been a permanently disqualifying issue. I'm not part of "them".

I am stating something obvious -- that you can't hastily slap a fraud-prone voting system into place, and expect people to respect the results of a close election. This is true even if both candidates are typical politicians, rather than a narcissist like Trump.

It's also bad optics when that weird hybrid mail/in-person system produces one winner on election night, and a different winner the next morning. I understand it, and am not complaining. However, this adds to the shady appearance, and the country's faith in the entire election falls apart.

Trump shouldn't be doing what he's doing, but this system itself is the root cause. There would be massive distrust even if Trump said nothing and conceded.
