I’ll spare you the “wrong”. You are sincere and it’s a fun discussion.

Policy will have to drag Trump around for years like a ball and chain. Inexorably linked. We’ve said this before - you missed your window with impeachment. Now you are rooting for death.

Nixon was the clean example you’re wishing for. Evidence was overwhelming. He was found guilty in the hearings. He admitted wrongdoing was pardoned and disappeared from the public eye in shame.

We bounced back in the context of history. None of these elements are present with Trump.

Trump is not admitting anything upon reflection. Trump’s financial and legal issues will be nightly fodder for ever. Schadenfreude for the unquenchable public. Trump is not going away. Trump will continue to shoot off about politics. Loudly.

You occupy an interesting reality. I blame your Facebook.

this is a really fucking strong take.

but it also assumes meadows isnt literally part of the cult and capable of that sort of decision making. and its possible, granted, but not likely that someone who wasnt a full blown cult member would be afforded that level of authority.

but yeah i 100% agree; its a super interesting, strong, and quite possibly cogeville take.

No surprised white house lying like crazy. Honestly the whole reveal by twitter at 1am was odd. Just another example how this administration can;t be trusted to report properly on anything.

Conley told reporters the team was 72 hours into Trump's diagnosis. But that would put the timeline at the president testing positive Wednesday morning. Trump tweeted shortly before 1 am on Friday he had tested positive. On Thursday he flew to his golf club in Bedminister, New Jersey, for a fundraiser with about 100 people.

'Just 72 hours into the diagnosis now, the first week of COVID, in a particular day seven to day 10, are most critical in determining the likely course of this illness. At this time the team and I are extremely happy with the progress the president has made. Thursday he had a mild cough with nasal congestion and fatigue all of which are now resolving and improving,' Conley said.

In fairness it's been known for ages there are extreme fractures in the Trump administration. Mostly caused by people looking out for their best interests. Given Trump's poor results in polling and questionable health it's only gonna get worse now. I'm sure there is a whole group of people who have attached their wagon to Pence or whatever the hell comes next.

Also I haven;t been able to see any polls but would be really interested to see how Pence polls against Biden.

    You should be angry.
Conservatism was already doa. Hillary beats any of the normal crew. Badly. Rhinos only got that election bc of trump, not in spite of him. Now it’s over, as will be our republic. It will just be a slow roll.

lets not overlook the fact that this is the naked face of a national security concern. like just for starters, the market is held together with duct tape and hysteria right now. everyones been trying to keep it from imploding because currency collapses / recessions leave scars that can take years if not decades to heal.

the lack of centralized, coordinated, unified messages however is where this goes from typical government slight of hand to full blown trumpian sideshow incompetence.

i feel like 'taking the virus seriously' would have to be something for the win column

It is interesting to read Druff’s response to all this. He asks: “What are the probabilities of death for those infected.” “What is the likelihood Trump succumbs?”

And that recovery would happen quickly......
Druff is like those Japanese WWII holdouts found in Southeast Asia until the 60’s. They either didn’t know the war was over or were such ideologues that they never surrendered.

I think the alt-right Facebook crowd wages each issue in hand to hand combat is unable to pan out and survey the battlefield. Apply a little history.

210,000 dead wasn't enough for him to take the virus seriously. If he recovers, he'll be immune and have even less reason to care about it. He is a low-IQ narcissist.

However, this does seem to have sent a panic throughout the rest of the GOP and Senate leaders in particular. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for them.

The Republican Party will recover one day, but it will take years to wash off the stink of this administration and to shed many of the sycophant politicians that hitched their wagon to it.

I think this is what the Lincoln Party crew realizes too. They're not happy at the prospect of 12+ years of Democrat rule, but understand that the GOP needs to burn down before it can be rebuilt.

Trump will still fight a gorilla war and Druff and his kin will holdout. It will be an un-winnable war. They will delay the healing.

The Bannon brand of Republican politics will necessarily die. Something else will someday replace it. It is impossible to foresee what that might be now.

Slowly the Senate seats lost will be taken back. The House. It will take a long while. The punishment hasn’t even been delivered yet.

Unwinding 12 years of Democratic legislation. It’ll be a lot. But the social safety net during the recession will be difficult to part with.

Shocked that Druff doesn't believe this Republican bullshit that the left deliberately infected Trump at the debate.

Now if all goes well, most Republicans will be infected with the coronavirus in the next few days so that the Republicans won't be able to confirm another Supreme Court Justice.
