poker players are Total Catastrophes in all the ways that would keep a functional adult healthy, and most of us are getting on in the years to boot. also very few people here have the sorts of resources you and i can leverage for safety/security, and will likely find themselves low hanging fruit for kidnapping, extortion, home invasions, which im including in the body count.

I literally was going to post how I thought something is changing. Something is pointing to the end of the increased # of cases every day. I can feel it from everything I'm perusing/witnessing, but I need someone to confirm this feeling.
For Sonatine to bring us this news story, now, I am speechless. He will be right again. Mar 17th-Mar24 will be the start of the slope not getting higher for new day-to-day cases for Westernized countries in general. We'll still have more cases from that peak slope day forward but they will start to follow the China model.
We missed containment. We're gonna go all China-like now. Outstanding.
Considering no one had tests, and we are going to get tests in, I don’t know how we will know when and if it’s spreading. It’s going to look ike it’s spreading more. Obviously we are isolated and that will help. Italy is probably near the peak and will begin to decline. We are weeks to a month from that point, maybe more like six weeks, and it will be hard to determine given the initial lack of testing.

I think it's going to be earlier than that. North America has had the benefit of seeing what happened in China/Europe/Middle East. Now that being said people are extremely stupid and the leadership didn't take drastic measures right away. But they are starting to now.

Good points. The new tests are going to make it LOOK like it is going up yes. Until it doesn't. That will happen soon, I believe. As long as the social distancing happens for a while, all these businesses/institutions stay closed for a while and so forth. There'll always be the temptation to ramp things up before they should be ramped up.
Let's face it, we probably have already passed the peak slope for new cases, since older days did not include "proper testing" and had more cases than we recoreded. We are "catching" more of the real cases now. Too much (and that's a good thing) testing will not show this for a while (that we've past the peak slope increase of daily new cases). Just a carbon copy of China...maybe takes a bit longer though.

Reports from Spain is that Sevilla FC are claiming 35% of the playing group and support staff have it and none are showing symptoms.
Sports teams worldwide are being tested regularly, might be a good indicator to judge the real infection rate amongst communities as the majority of these players are asymptomatic and probably wouldn't be tested if they were ordinary citizens with no symptoms.
Of course close contact from playing soccer would heighten infections... but damn 35% asymptomatic.
Bottom line is I have about a 1/4Mill to spray around in the market, cash. This is a fabricated CNN bunch of bullshit. I am buying. When I hand you a $20, make sure you give me correct change bitches.

This is the scary thing - I came down with a fever last Wednesday, went to urgent care the next morning. No test to give me. I have no fever now, but have no idea if I have it. Have been good about quarantining, etc.
