How about New York, where they can't set a cash bail for anything besides the most violent of violent crimes, thus forcing them to kick loose violent criminals, who just go right back out and re-offend?
And yes, that's already happened numerous times since this started in November.
Lol @ the American left's attempts at criminal justice. Just a complete disaster.
It is not just the left, I live in a red state and it is and has been an ongoing effort here. It's done for two reasons - 1. so republicans can pat themselves on their back as being sympathetic to the plight of these misguided souls and 2. to save money on building new prisons that they can use to buy votes with. again, these crimes aren't happening to the politicians or their families or else this wouldn't be the result -- same thing with tort deform. meanwhile the sheep think this is a positive thing, lol, as the wolves remain at large.
Blake, you're right but for the wrong reasons. I'm not voting for a socialist under any circumstances, but the reasons aren't egocentric. My successes and failures in life are my responsibility. Not the president, not congress, and not the supreme court. Part of the problem is that too many people think only of themselves and not what's best for the whole.
I think socialism is dangerous, but I don't think my life will change much regardless of who's elected in November. And I'm certainly not worried about the stock market. While I don't want anyone to lose money or their job, the business cycle exists for a reason and the market will enter bear territory eventually. This is ultimately healthy, if painful, and works to reset asset prices.
I'm a decade and a half away from retirement so a stock market retreat would actually be welcomed. If I was closer to retirement I'd be diversified enough to handle any sort of market pull back. Again, I decide the terms of my life, not the government. That's the point.

I'm not triggered by that idiotic discussion on CNN. On the contrary, I'm happy that they're still doing this shit and haven't learned from 2016.
I love it when the arrogant left looks down upon everyone aside from coastal educated elites. Just keeps driving more blue collar voters to the Republican Party.
These idiots just refuse to get it. The way to get blue collar swing voters back is to validate their concerns and then convince them you're going to both listen to them and make their life better. The left instead talks down to them, and their form of "help" involves free stuff which these people don't want in the first place.
The left's message is, "You're a dumb hick, your religion is a joke, and you enjoy all kinds of privilege for being white and heterosexual. Now sit down, shut up, and let the smarter folks get you some free things we say you need, which we will fund off the backs of rich people."
Then they wonder why these people vote for Trump.
So yeah, CNN, let's see some more mocking of Trump-voting hicks. I'm lovin' it!
The funny thing is that Trump can't actually relate to blue collar swing voters. He's never been one of them, and he hasn't really associated much with them in his lifetime.
However, he's incredibly good at understanding people's concerns and saying what they want to hear. This got him both the Republican nomination and the general election of 2016.
Democrats are really bad at this. They are so over-concerned with identity politics and never validating the "concerns of the ignorant" that they can't bring themselves to treat the blue collar swing voter respectfully, nor can they effectively pretend to be concerned with their plight. Instead it's, "Trump doesn't care about you" and "Here's some free things we will get you", neither of which really plays very well with that crowd.
Trump can speak to these people about their concerns while not offending his base. The Democrats can't. That's the real problem here.
Much like Republicans are making a mistake letting the potential Hispanic vote get away, Democrats are letting the white blue collar vote get away.
I agreed with your general argument but smiled with “booming economy”
All time highs on Wall Street, record employment, corporate earnings surprise..........
and yet you brow beat the Fed Chairman Powell into cutting interest rates back toward zero. WHY? They just swung below 0% in Germany and France.
Yeah, we’re good.
Junk bonds are 5%. Not 12% or 17%. Risk is mispriced. This is exactly like every other credit bubble. Most recently 2008. Greenspan lowers interest rates to near zero following Sept 11 and the train could not be stopped. Investors bought mispriced risky shit like mortgage backed securities.
Nobody wanted to stop the addiction and feel a little necessary pain.
The cycle repeats itself. It always gets corrected... it just hurts worse each time it happens. Trump will almost certainly dodge the crisis but he might not. No one knows when or exactly how but it’ll come.

regardless of what happens going forward you can never, EVER take this speech away from Joe Biden:
If they regret it and are considering voting Democrat this time around, the worst thing you can do is insult them, belittle them, and tell them how "privileged" they are to be white and heterosexual.
That will just drive voters dissatisfied with Trump back to Trump, the same way a woman goes back to her abusive ex-boyfriend after dating a few guys she perceives to be even worse.
That's human nature.
The left is so wrapped up in identity politics and the victim olympics that they don't see the people they're driving away. They just blame "racism", "sexism", "homophobia", "ignorance", etc.
