Saw the river Niger for first time today, impressive.
Not much else to report, big booties not in abundant display, except in the camels I saw carrying rugs.
Couple of very nice fairly new hotels near the government buildings, I'm staying somewhere lower down the trip advisor rankings, but it has ice cold ac so that's the main thing.
Heard a working conspiracy theory today that is helping fuel some of the jihadist upsurge, about France trying to carve out a new country in the Sahel, taking the bits with least people and most oil/uranium. Almost certainly complete bollocks, but who knows these days.
