This is even more proof that these "player banked" games are a sham, and the whole system needs major reform.
I was a table games manager in a few different Indian Casinos during the "poker boom".
I've seen some extremely shady scams. I'm not sure how it works everywhere else but in OK they would collect an ante. This is suppose to be the Casinos fee for running player banked games. If the player bank made money all that money is suppose to be given back to the players. We've bought cars, jet skis, cruises etc. with this money and for the most part all of that was on the up and up.
Early in the Bellator MMA days we had a fight at one of our Casinos on the Oklahoma / Kansas border. It took place in a tent behind the Casino, was on paperview etc. If they pulled in every male within 100 miles they couldn't have sold out this fight. Their solution? Our player pool purchased all the "VIP" tickets for the fight and handed them out to players, this turned the player pool money into casino money "Legally". These tickets were $3000 each. You got to set ringside in a folding chair at a folding plastic table. We literally handed out hundreds of these and most of them hit the trash can.
