The funny thing is I logged in right before game start with every intention of betting Chiefs, but I saw that 55 sitting there and it was just too low to pass up. Still pushed which is better than losing, but lost an easy win.

I was on the over too but the play you guys are complaining about happens all the time. Call it professional courtesy or call it not wanting another kickoff, which is like the top area of injury on a single play over the life of the nfl. Sadly there was no pt to score there, they couldn't come back so why risk injury of running up the score for another kickoff. Of course verm and his magical lines (everyone else has fake lines but him) accounted for this, but alas we're all not experts like him.

???? It happens all the time in college football where the team is up 40+ pts in the 4th and just run the ball vs kick the field goal. Less likely in the nfl but if you wanted to bet $100 I'm sure I'd be able to find 2-3 examples over the last 10yrs of this exact or VERY similar example (a player about to score a clear TD but slides right before getting the TD so the team can run out the clock vs running up the score)

Ignore my comment. I didn’t read the post very well. But as far as a similar example I remember shady McCoy did this a few years ago when he was on the eagles. He had a clear path to the end zone and kneeled at the 1 yard line going in so they could run out the clock. And that caused the eagles to not cover.????
