There is nothing about the US Military that makes me proud.

When the public goes through the nonsense of stand up and we thank you for your service my emotion is one of pity for the veteran. The pride & the pity.

The VA is an absolute disgrace. I have been to the VA’s in Mass and I wouldn’t take my car there to be serviced. Decrepit and dirty.

There should be unlimited funds and cutting edge treatment. Doctors there should be the highest paid. Go ahead and waste the money in true government fashion. If you’re going to spew money there is no more deserving place.

Overwhelm the bureaucracy and stupidity with a fire hose of cash. Increase my taxes.

That a politician doesn’t latch onto such a no lose issue is testimony to how stupid they are.

Mrs Daly works for the VA. It’s the most mismanaged institution on the face of the earth. The place is an absolute disgrace.

The story I tell to illustrate the point is my wife was a supervisor. They had a woman and her husband who worked for the VA (both black with connections to the local “community”) on tape stealing donations (clothes/food) and outing it into their car with the license plate of said car clearly visible. Wife put her employee up for termination for cause. After a few month long fight and input from “the local community” and “the union” it was determined that it even though it was in all likelihood their car (it was) it was not 1000000% clear that it was these two specific employees so they couldn’t fire them.

A month later the employee was promoted out to a different department tucked away in the basement doing data entry. Within 6 months my wife was out as being a supervisor and moved to a full time work from home job. She was demoted by pay grade. After getting a 10k raise a year earlier to become a supervisor she suffered the indignity of having her pay cut by $498 a year.

This shit happens every day at the VA - it’s a fucking joke.

To be clear though there are a lot of GREAT people there who do incredible work. There just happen to be a ton of secretaries that can’t use a computer and groundskeepers that are in wheelchairs.
