Believe it or not, this is pretty standard. This happned Morales as well I believe. I’m a big Canelo fan but I’m an even bigger GGG fan. I’m excited for the fight

Welp....unless they can do this in MSG (NY's athletic commission has let fighters who have fought after pissing hot before)....as well as convince GGG to re-take that fight (he blasted Canelo in a recent interview with insults...which was kind of awesome)....looks like boxing fans are SOL

At this point I think the fair assumption is that Canelo is on PEDs and was on them for the first fight too. So GGG either has to assume that is a handicap he is just going to have to live with (assuming he isn't on any) or call off the fight. I am not sure what he is trying to accomplish by calling Canelo out like that.

I dunno the exact economics involved, but I doubt this is costing Canelo a lot of money in the long run. He is a big enough name that he can keep selling out big money fights down the road after this resolves, even if he loses his window to rematch GGG.

Pretty good day of boxing today.

    Khan vs. Lo Greco early.

I think betting Lo Greco at +850 makes a lot of sense. Khan should win, on paper. But he's out of the ring for 2 years. His chin is obviously not good, and at this point he can probably be KO'd by anyone with decent pop on their punches. Lo Greco isn't a killer, but he's got 15 KO's in 28 wins, and he fought Spence tough, on short notice, for 2 rounds (ultimately stopped in the 3rd). Longshot, but it could certainly happen.

    Broner vs. Vargas late.

Vargas -130 for me, all fucking day. Broner has shown nothing at all to suggest he's ready to resurrect his career. And I'm not even sure there was anything substantial to his career to start with. Beat up on a bunch of dudes smaller than him, and lost every time he stepped up. Vargas is a tough dude. Looks like a bad style match up for Broner, especially if he's just going to posture, and throw 10 punches per round like usual. I don't see shit that suggests the odds should be this close.

Broner plays a good villain, but he’s just happy to be boxing on Saturday again. Vargas is the real deal. Part of me hopes Broner gets his shit together and does something with the natural talent he has, but it’s unlikely. There are guys with a third of his physical ability that have had hall of fame careers.

I agree. Broner has always had decent power, and really, really quick hand speed. He needs to stop with that shoulder roll, because he can't do it. He doesn't have the reflexes for it. And he doesn't have great foot speed. He looks stuck in the mud half the time. He's got to make up for that shit, by using his natural abilities. But it's all for nothing if he doesn't let his hands go.

Keep Gervante Davis away from Broner please... that kid looked great. I hope this is not another Broner situation.

Broner has checked out of boxing a while ago.

A lot of his career he's been out worked by his opponents early as that is his style but after losing the first time it seems he's there for the pay day fighting a super lazy style with some dirty tactics (low blows).

Broner cares more about outside of the ring activities then boxing and some of those have obviously got him in trouble with the law.

Edit: Ok so Broner finally started fighting around the 7th round or so making this more entertaining.

    Same here.

When I posted originally it was about round 6 or 7. Broner took most of the later rounds. The feeling it out process for timing and hoping your opponent might gas out is fine to an extent but no fighter should let that last halfway into the fight hoping they stole one of the early rounds and forcing themselves to win all of the rest of them.

I wouldn't mind seeing this fight again as long as Broner don't fight like a goon for as long as he did.

That’s the best shape Broner has ever been in. He’s notorious for fading after the 7th. Quite the opposite this time around. Sooooo many body shots by Vargas, I’m surprised Broner was able to throw with as much power as he was. Very entertaining, would enjoy watching it again.

I got back into Kodie recently and although it can be a pain for stuff you think you'll get there a number of
gems, including a channel that replays all televised prize fights among the greats.

Just watch Floyd Patterson take down Archie Moore and then saw Sonny Liston may fast work of Patterson in round 1

I'll have to take another look as I didn't note it. It's a foreign based Sports Channel and they have every fight you could think of. This is the era where photographers with big flash bulbs were literally leaning into the ring for the best shot and I even saw Howard Cosell walking around before the wig.

The channel or network is Skynet. U.K. based I believe.
Kodi is a program that tries to bring all things tv to cable cutters. They are dodging the law a lot I guess but there is some stuff out there
that is no longer guarded. So if you're lucky to can stream live sports but in this case Skynet has a boxing classics channel and you can watch them for free. It's pretty amazing to see fighters that you've heard of from past generations.
I don't think there is any prize fight that isn't available. here's a screen shot

Kodi is a free program but it takes a little bit to get comfortable with Lots of instruction stuff on the web as well

Nice. Yeah I have Kodi on the Firestick so I’m definitely going to check it out.

Is it just me or was Lomachenko losing that fight before the knockout? Awesome fight, and great to see top guys fighting one another. This is what the sport needs.

The judges had it a split draw after 9 rounds.
