Considering making America great again and creating jobs for Americans was pretty much his only policy position, you’d think he could have easily at least followed through on shit he actually owns.
I agree Presidents can barely influence who hires whom on a large national scale, but a single memo from the OWNER of the course saying if you hire one foreigner, you’re fired, would have likely done the job quite succinctly and set the precedent that he at least won’t break his own promises at shit he owns. It isn’t like these are some high tech positions that we can’t fill with qualified Americans. I’m sure there’s plenty of college students and single moms who could and would fill a waitress job that has a min wage of over $15/hr and likely earns 3x that with tips.
Going after Trump for this is either just ignorance of how business works or straight political IMO. Pick any liberal or conservative politician who owns or has ties to businesses with thousands of employees and there is guaranteed to be numerous instances of hiring practices that aren't consistent with their political message.
