Nod but per my comment about clearance, once you get on that train you essentially relinquish most of your rights as a private citizen. They may have simply decided a FISA warrant would be the most thorough low-overhead option.

Also I think we all know that we havent had actual privacy rights since the late 40s.

You think the FBI didnt spy on Hillary, while I am absolutely confident that per their departmental charter, they did.

What might help bridge that gulf is that all NSA intercepts for anyone who holds clearance are rigorously reviewed by compartmentalized teams within the FBI, and I assume other agencies as well. More so btw since China hacked OPM.

So I would absolutely expect any accusation from Manafort to be investigated and if it's provenance could not be disproven, I would absolutely expect a warrant to be issued. Because the other side of that process is that if Manafort's intelligence proves spurious, you now know that Manafort is either being fed disinformation deliberately or he's compromised, both of which are actionable.

Alex Jones would not be taken seriously because his credibility is next to nothing, of course.

i don't get what's earth shattering here. that the steele dossier played a part in the FISA memo? i said this yesterday, but is this news to anyone?

what's hilarious is that the memo doesn't even claim that the steele dossier was the sole source of info used, only that it played an "essential" part of it -- at least according to nunes. umm, what was the rest of the info?

also by his own admission, nunes rushed to the white house to tell trump about this (remember the press conference he held) and you can surmise that that trump basically wrote this.

cliffs are that nunes (a dairy farmer) should go to jail for obstructing justice. this is a complete work to give trump cover to fire rod rosenstein. trump can't fire mueller, so his plan is to fire mueller's boss. that way, rosenstein's replacement who is "independent" will fire mueller for him.
