Didn't watch a single second of the State of the Union address. I just don't get the fascination with these kind of spectacles. Lets be honest here. Trump didn't write that speech and most of the people listening don't care what the speech said anyways.

Before the speech started everyone had already made up their mind what they thought about it, mainly based on political orientation. The speech itself and all the reactions to it (good and bad) were nothing but an empty spectacle. If that is your thing, than that is fine. But I just don't see the appeal. I watched the end of the Rockets game and then most of the Clippers game instead.

The thing is, when he says hes going to fire government employees who arent acting in his best interests, lock up more black people for drugs, and militarize the police force, he's not just whistling dixie.

These are noteworthy agendas.

Mrs Daly moved to Florida to work for a particular VA in my area as a Sr. Supervisor in a particular service. She was a 5 star employee in Boston and was a candidate for management. She was told to come in and make big changes at this florida VA. The staff was known as being awful and well over 50% of them wouldn't have a job in the private sector. Her role had 5 people in it in 4 years (should have been a warning).

She lasted 5 months. She had enough documtaion on 5 different people to have them fired for cause. When the rubber hit the road the Sr Executive "quadrad" nixed it every time because they didn't want lawsuits or a protest by any one of any "protected classes". Instead my wife was written up 4 times by employees complaints one time sited for sexual harassment. She had video coverage of one of her employees and her VA employed husband stealing donated clothes placing them into their car in the garage with the license plate clearly in view. The video only "mostly looked like" her and her husband "so we can't use this for evidence to fire them" said the union official..... "I'm not sure the local black caucus members would stand for this"...... they threw out the file.

It's great that federal employees have a good deal. They should be destination jobs that people want. The VA is a fucking joke and they could easily fire and replace 20% of the employees based on the stories I hear.
