Don't forget, I was the guy who used bacon grease to make popcorn. https://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sh...l=1#post223437

My position on bacon grease is well documented.

Lasagna is always better the next day or a spell in the freezer. Next time you make it, make an extra tray and just freeze it and portion it out for individual portions if nobody else likes it, you can always reheat it for a quick solo dinner. Lasagna is literally the greatest invention ever. I was in Olive Garden the other day, got a piece of lasagna and a Chianti and it was great. Not as good as homemade, but still good stuff.

Striploin steak medium rare(picture doesn't do it justice in that regard) from a local butcher that I literally could cut with a fork, sided with fresh brussel sprouts fried with onions & tomatoes using breakfast's bacon grease for added flavor.

    It was delicious.

One more point as far as the sister in law not liking red meat, traditional lasagna has no meat in it. I have had many of lasagna with no meat in it, just loaded with various cheeses and random veggies such as spinach. Actually not having meat makes it less dense. Don't get me wrong, I like sausage and ground beef in my lasagna, but I have had it meat free and its still good. Don't let a vegetarian hold you back from making it.

Tonight's dinner & definitely qualifies as a "you can afford" hot hamburger.

    Name: Dinner2.jpg

Handmade hamburger patty fried up with onions & mushrooms then topped on a gravy drenched butter flake biscuit(I would've used bread but it was all I had & worked out great) with fried mushrooms & onions & then topped again with a gravy. I put more on after the picture was taken.

Total cost, about $8 for dinner for 2 with enough leftover for my work lunch tomorrow.

Little before and after action from christmass. Had a family come down with the flu so I cut the roast back 3 ribs. Guess I'm going to have to pick a night and make prime rib again.

This was made in a "set it and forget it" rotisserie. Very under rated cooking instrument.
