LOL at Tide and Druff for STILL thinking there is a seat on the #trumpTrain for them.
They might accept you now, so they can point and say they aren't racist, (i.e. Omeerosa, or any black guy Trump can get to take a pic w/him.)
If they ever accomplished anything they are trying to do, (like a white utopia) you 2 would be kicked off the train before me.

85% of Houston homeowners had no flood insurance.
I choose to live in a god forsaken city like Houston because I can make good money in the petrochemical industry. That's cool, men have always chosen to move to harsh places and suffer hardship for the opportunity to realize riches or just improve their lot.
Others chose to live in Houston because it had a good economy because of that industry. Some people sold shovels to miners during the California gold rush too.
Some people are just dumb and lack the intellectual or emotional energy to overcome inertia and chose to continue to live in Houston for absolutely no reason. It's a free country and I should not have to concern myself with their choices.
Houston is a city that sits right on the Gulf. Every school child knows this is hurricane country. Katrina got a lot of press.
Living in Houston you had to be aware of the levees and dams and at one time or another asked yourself why they exist.
You don't need to read stuff written by pointy head intellectuals to know which way the wind blows.
You did not buy flood insurance.
Politicians and media are gonna spend a lot of time pointing fingers. Mayor should have urged evacuation and all that. Somehow Trump will catch shrapnel.
The government and my bank didn't MANDATE that I buy flood insurance. It's not my fault. Whose gonna bail me out because I made a series of bad choices?
You would think Trump, the Governor or some other leader would take the opportunity to remind people of the value of flood insurance. It is possible some percentage of the Houston population thought their homeowners insurance covered floods. Politicians and the media can use this opportunity to help and inform others. Trump would be just the guy to deliver this public message.
It's all bullshit. Unfortunate and inconvenient but bullshit.
No, Massachusetts. I'm a Masshole, who chose to write in first person. I knew I would confuse people. I blame it on Trump.
We get hammered with so much news & info. I can only concern myself with so much news at one time. I follow some issues and disregard others.
This is how I absorbed the story. I have moved on and will not have any more interest in Houston going forward.
Sampled first few minutes. Love it
Mumbles posted it in response to Druff.
Druff is the only one, to my knowledge, on this board who accepts and defends the premise for the Iraq War.
It has always struck me that a guy who wallows into the greed and corruption of poker and related industries fails to apply similar worldly cynicism about the motives of those in government.. Somehow only folks in poker are shady & corrupt.
Druff revised the user tags for this site recently. Some algorithm for rep & posts was applied. That's fine.
What would have been far more interesting would have been his applying user tags that reflected his perception of the users.
Daly - "Master of Props" was his work. A thoughtful description. If he had continued with FPS, lol wow, etc that would have been HOF.
Honestly, I know how to count so I'm not sure the added value of Platnum etc.
If I was to tag Druff it would read "Light Regulation". He has this innocent & misbegotten faith in the people who choose government as a career. He has no regard for unintended consequences that result from most regulation.
For more than a decade, he has been knee deep in a community that is populated by the top 1% of cynical, flea bitten, schemers, malcontents and dreamers. Yet he seems unaffected. He has not developed 2nd and 3rd level thinking with regard to the rest of the world. He accepts at face value the machinations of government and politicians.
Government acts in the interest of the public? Sometimes their self interest is coincident with ours. Happy coincidence. Politicians and civil servants are not Americas best and brightest and generally not motivated by selfless public service.
Druff & WMD's have been the most astounding posts and radio. I seriously thought he was trolling us. He's not.
Light regulation and gambling.... the Beating the Book guy, Gil (forget last name) recently has commented "be careful what you wish for". "We may be living through a golden age of sports wagering." I have consistently been saying this since I started this band with regard to poker & sports. Bad shit happens and caveat emptor but government is the third rail.
North Korea? You can be assured whatever our response is it will be the wrong one.

Flood insurance is a federally subsidized program, and it is available to almost everyone, including the entire Houston area.
https://www.fema.gov/national-flood-insurance-program
There you go pretending like you know everything. Flood insurance is offered to any legal dwelling on a federal level or private level. The rates may make it unlivable for an individual on thier income, but it is offered. I had to do extensive research on this when I was looking for a house that got raped by Sandy, house was AE7, with survey saying it was -10ft below the flood plain and would most likely need to be raised in the next few yrs. Insurance cost 3500 a year /25% my yrly taxes... fuckkk that.
Also, LOL at the house 8 houses down being in flood zone X and only needing to pay $400 a yr (or not get it at all) such a joke.
Quick edit, you're a retard if you don't get the cheap flood insurance when you live right next to an AE flood plain
"I GOT NO TOE"
#FreeFluffler #FreeThisGuyIsCreepy #lockupGarrett
Oh shit, flood insurance rates might reflect risk such that they are unaffordable to some.
Isn't the message here - fucking move?
House washes away and is uninsured. Is this not a pure outcome?
In New England people built modest cabins and fishing shacks in the 1930's on what we would consider beach front.
The inevitable nor'easter rolls in and the tide washes up and these building got wet. Not too much of a problem.
Later, these building were bought, leveled and in their place extravagant homes are built. The views are fabulous.
Nor'easter rolls in a couple more times and eventually you can't afford the flood insurance.
Am I supposed to cry? Am I supposed to pay?
Builders in Phoenix putting up houses in arroyos or dry river beds was another example that came to mind.
I mean it sucks to be stupid or completely surprised but it makes great television.
