For the purpose of realism, perhaps this should replace the official portrait of Trump that is hung in government buildings, albeit sans the lettering.

Besides, all legal avenues have sadly been exhausted now. After numerous appeals the judges have said he can't travel. His machine will be switched off within days.

The proposed treatment had a low chance of success as it's still in its trial period. But even if it went perfect, the kid would still be left with severe brain damage and lifelong pain. That is what swung it for the judges (as I understand it)

A really sad case. Parents will of course try anything to keep their boy alive. But medical experts are of the belief that keeping him alive is probably the cruel thing to do.

Totally agree with him "getting his shot". That decision should be solely down to the parents imo. But it really is a fucked up situation. Docs say he's suffering, and although the pioneering like operation could save his life, the suffering will never go away.

Medical experts feel it's inhumane to keep the boy alive, but obviously the parents don't want to give up on him (I wouldn't either). Courts tho rule on what's best for the child, not the parents.

The case went through several UK courts and the medical argument won every time. That left the parents with nowhere to go other than a longshot EU court reprieve.

And this whole EU court ruling is being badly represented across the pond. People are reading the headline rather researching the whole drawn out legal process... Those who are well informed over here in the UK (pro & anti EU) are shaking their heads at the stupidity coming out of America over this.

So make no mistake. It was the UK courts who are letting the kid pass, NOT the EU.

This reminds me of the Terri Schaivo case in the US. Docs said she was brain dead and husband wanted to pull the plug. Parents wanted to keep her alive. Husband prevailed. I say prevailed because nobody "wins" these very difficult and emotional cases.
