This whole shit would have been prevented if Weeks did a better job as an official.

He should have given Kovalev a count, or even time to recover, if he thought the shots were low.

I thought all 3 were clearly low. Yes they were both fighting dirty, but that shouldn't be how the fight ends, especially with a light puncher like Ward.
I don't think it should have ended that way either. But Ward was really starting to fuck Kovalev up. That right hand that initially buckled Kovalev was the beginning of the end. I'd have liked to see it end with a legit ko/tko.

Also, I'm 99% sure that's a fake Tony Weeks Twitter account.

This is the picture being passed around as the "nut shot" by Kovalev supporters.

I don't know where this fools nuts are at, but that's belt line. If he took a shot to the manhood there, he's got some deformation.

That's not where he made contact. That's his hand already coming up after having made contact low
We pray for understanding as we all occasionally request back door action by accident, when we tried to call an electrician. It happens, it simply happens.

I haven't seen a damn thing showing that Kovalev was hit in the nuts.

But I did see Kovalev get hit in the gut multiple times and cry to the ref that they were low, when they weren't.

Kovalev, and his fans, need to accept that he, in no way, shape, or form, was better than Andre Ward on Saturday. Ward was fucking him up in the later rounds. He got bailed out by a lame excuse.

Also, that picture looks like it's literally just before contact.

Either way. Kovalev didn't protest the stoppage for a split second until the post fight interview.

Kind of how Pacquiao didn't complain about his shoulder until he was told to.

Kovalev was done. The real robbery is that Ward didn't get to finish him off.

I was looking through some boxing betting lines and the GGG/Alvarez 09.5 -215 really stood out. Neither of these guys has been hurt in their life to the best of my knowledge, although Alvarez you could argue hasn't been tested as his toughest fights have been against not hard punchers (trout, lara, Floyd). This -215 seems like insane value to me. Minus a freak injury I just don't see a KO happening before round 10.

    Anyone disagree?

I'd lean to the over, too, but I dislike playing 'over' round props in a fight with 2 big punchers.

I'm taking Canelo in the fight for a few reasons. He's more experienced against better competition, faster, younger, better head movement and counter punching. And maybe most importantly, unless it's a complete blowout, he's almost certain to win on the cards.

But I think it all pretty much boils down to his ability or inability to neutralize the jab of GGG. If he can't work around GGG's jab, he's going to lose. But if he can, I think he can win most of the exchanges on the inside. And of course whether or not he can handle the punching power of GGG.

I like Canelo straight at + odds, but it wouldn't surprise me if GGG wins.

Also, Pacquiao vs. Jeff 'LOL' Horn this weekend. Live on ESPN. Manny ITD is +140. I think he stops Horn. Dude is slow, doesn't have great defense. He's got a little pop in his punches, but they're slow. Unless he lands a bomb, he's going to take a full on beating.

Pacman much more accurate. His thrown less and connected more compared to Horne. Horne is trying to outpunch Pacman which isn't likely to work unless he's hoping to get lucky.

I'm at a wedding that Jim Lampley is also at. Spoke to him for a few
Minutes...not douchey at all. I asked him if he was working the Mayweather / Macregor bout. He laughed and said no it's showtime that is airing that farce. Said Mayweather will destroy him. He also said the fight of the year will be Canelo vs Golovkin. Lastly he told me that Limoshenko is easily the best boxer on the planet.

the wedding hutmaster is at must be going pretty well, as its 9:30 west coast time and he's already drunk enough to not know he already posted the Lampley pic a few hours ago. Cheers! (in fairness, he hadn't spoken to lampley by the first post, and its also in another thread)

so glad I picked up a few brews a few hours ago. this is a drinking fight, for sure.

Horn has been a good challenger but he's going to lose his first tonight. He will be a champ I'm sure soon.
