I think someone in Trump's admin with a security clearance may be telling Putin which Russians are actually US spies. This killing spree has been a PR disaster for Putin so this must be for a good reason. Before this many people thought Putin was a pretty good guy, there was that polonium deal a long time ago but that's it. Now there's no doubt he's a blood thirsty tyrant who rules with an iron fist. The sad thing is it's the Russian people who will pay the price if we impose harsh sanctions (post Trump), Putin's not skipping any meals.

Otoh this whole Russia stole the election thing may be a bunch of PR bullshit from team Clinton and the MIC who would love to see cold war 2.0.
